Snoring, Aibu!

My dp falls asleep every night at about 8.30-9 in front of the TV and starts snoring really loudly. It totally does my head in.
I normally ask him to go to bed if it happens but he told me earlier that I was selfish and that its his perogative to fall asleep after a days work in front of the tv.
Apart from the fact that its not great for our relationship, aibu to get cross about it? I often go to bed before him to get away from it!
Who is being unreasonable?

If he wants to sleep then he should go to bed and disturb you. Selfish git.

I may be biased here because I have a dh that snores too but when my dh snores on the couch, I ask him to leave the room. To me, snoring is anti-social and if he starts, he has to go.

My dh has never batted an eyelid when asked to go.

Ugh. YANBU. I could not be listening v to that while relaxing in the living room. If he's snoring he needs to go to bed!

My Dp used to do this , I managed to train him out of it though it did take a good while.

It just made me feel rather stabby every time he did it , I drilled it in to him that if he were tired to go to bed as that's for sleeping on & not the bloody couch

I leave my partner snoring on the sofa and sneak off to bed myself with a good book. I get to spread out on my own in a big comfy bed and he gets a stiff neck hunched up on the sofa until the early hours.

You could be me!! The volume on my tv goes up and up!! DH is a napper (borderline sleep apnea) and can fall asleep anywhere! Also means he can snore anywhere!! I can't bear snoring! I am currently on the settee and can him snoring away in bed. Not even attempting to go to bed tonight!!!

Me too! I hate it when DP falls asleep on the sofa more than I'll ever be able to explain. Luckily mine doesn't snore!

DH constantly falls asleep on the sofa. Drives me mad! Ditto snoring. Thank goodness for the spare bedroom!!!

My DH will pick something "interesting" to watch on iPlayer and will then sleep through most of it.
I've educated with quite a lot of elbowing him out of snoring now but he does make this annoying clicking noise that winds me up.
My Dad loves a good doze on the sofa, but he snores like a chainsaw cutting down a giant redwood so my Mum lobs cushions at him. After 40 years of marriage he still does it!
