It sounds a bit like some float about higher up until they are really ready to get on with the business of being born, at which point they go head down. I hope mine does!

DS turned 2 weeks ago at 38 weeks until then he had been breach at every scan.

That's good new smiling. Had they started trying to book you in for ECV / c-section and stuff?

I refused an ECV I did some research and wasn't happy with the success rate so decided i didn't want to put myself or DS through it.

Strangely the day I decided if it was going to be a c section and that I was fine with that was the day he turned.

Apparently I was breech till 39 weeks so he obviously just takes after me.

DS1 turned at 38 weeks, DS2 left it til the very last minute and turned at 39 weeks 5 days. He was due Christmas Day and they said they'd do a turning procedure at 39 weeks, I refused and just before his due date I felt him turn. Midwife checked me over the following day and went "That's definitely a head. Or an arse." and had to send me for a scan as she didn't believe me he'd turned.

Baby turned from transverse to head down yestetday. I watched some simple moves on youtube and spinningbabies.com and it took 4 days to turn here. 35w4d first scan. Turned by 36wd1. So relieved. I was really worried as they would want to ECV 37wd1. Felt something funny walking to a restaurant and have since had pressure on the bladder. So I requested an extra scan. Done wonders helping me to relax again. Also looked into Rebozo.. seems simple and has a medical record of being more effective than ecv. Theres a trial at a hospital here but the chances are you could be in the control group so we booked an appointment with a private midwife. We are still going to go..in case she turns back but also as its a method my husband can use when I'm in labour to relieve pain. I had never heard of it before and looks so cosy and unintrusive. Joined mumsnet just to onform you ladies about this...as I was so worried about an ecv.

One of my twins managed to turn at 34 weeks from head down to breech, I'm not quite sure how he managed it because he had his brother laying on top of him. They arrived a few days later.

DD2 (who was transverse for most of the 3rd trimester) was cephalic at 39 weeks which mean I didn't have the scheduled CS and skipped off home with a very disappointed senior reg staring at my back, definitely went back to being transverse during that week as good GOD could I feel it. Was cephalic again at 40 weeks when I was scanned and again skipped off home with the consultant shouting after me that he was DEFINITELY inducing me at 41 weeks and had the decency to stay like that until she delivered at 40+3 with no induction!

we'll leave the four minute second stage and my, ahem, surprise at that for another day
