Yes definitely contact the school! We deal with lots of social media issues that happen outside of school time.

TeatowelsRUs · 18/03/2015 22:04

Oh really, great thanks for the reassurance, I was worried that I would be seen as a busybody.

This is a matter for the parents, it's out of school.

Littlefish · 18/03/2015 22:07

In our school, if it was on Facebook, then we would not deal with it. Facebook is for 13 and over only. We are a primary school. Therefore, if parents decide to let their child have a Facebook account then monitoring it and dealing with any consequences are up to them.

TeatowelsRUs · 18/03/2015 22:11

It is not Facebook, the children in question are not on Facebook, they are too young

Our primary school deals with issues happening on social media between their pupils. There have been a couple of incidents recently which involved one of my DC and they acted swiftly in both cases. They have made it very clear to the children that they expect them to follow the school's golden rules outside school as well as in school. They would definitely want to be made aware of this and would take it very seriously indeed.

I don't know the parents, I have no idea who they are so cannot speak to them!

Speak to school.
They should be extremely keen to keep cyber issues under control I'm sure they will assist you!

TeatowelsRUs · 18/03/2015 22:20

Ok, I suppose I had already decided to speak to the school and I thank you all, I entirely agree Littlefish that children under 13 should not be on fb and am always amazed that parents allow their children, sometimes as young as 5 to have control of their own pages on there, I don't and never will let mine go on there until they turn 13.

If all of you had told me not to then I would have rethought my stance on this matter but I will be speaking to the form teacher tomorrow morning

Thank you all again Smile
