Stood up with 10 minutes notice

Just been stood up by a supposed friend for lunch with 10 minutes notice. She didn't even have the decency to make up an excuse Sad

I know I'm probably being unreasonable but don't most people at least make something up rather than just announcing they're not coming and making the other person feel like they've been dumped for a better offer Sad

If you have to cancel that late, no matter what the reason, you say more than that. Even if its something personal it takes 30 seconds to text "really sorry, got to cancel, personal/family stuff, will ring later to explain x"

miniavenger · 18/03/2015 18:04

Since you already had arranged to meet, she should have at least given some kind of indication or said 'will explain later'. I would be concerned if she's usually good though.

In an ideal world, maybe. In reality at the point you've been in an accident/found out that you have HIV/that a lo is dead or injured/witnessed a suicide/come home to find your dh in bed with someone/lost your job/that your house has been burgled/found out you are pregnant/found out you are miscarrying....and all the other really shit things that can happen in a lifetime, you can be less 'together' and communicative, trust me. It's called shock.

OP I hope your friend is OK and just being rude.

Call her and see how she is?

I'd be annoyed, too, but it sounds out of character so might be due to something serious.

Barbarian, if things are that bad you tend to not even bother cancelling because nothing else matters and you act auto pilot
