To think that a broken nose isn't 'just one of those things'?

DS1 had his nose broken in the school playground. There was an altercation during a lunchtime football game and he was punched. He's in Yr 6.

I feel shocked and angry, and would like the school to supervise lunchtime football better - instead of not at all. After all, if they were playing a match, they'd have a referee. But a couple of people (including the head) have said that 'it's one of those things.'

Is it? AIBU?

we had the police to school as a child assaulted dd on 3 occasions. On the second occasion, i told the school I was going to involve the police if they did not stop this. They didn't. The boy knew we were planning on calling the police and threaten dd that of we did he would do it again. So we called. The police were great and he was dealt with by them. Its not a nice thing to have to do but the school are rubbish at dealing with things like this. If she wasn't in year 6 i would remove her.
Anyway in your case, if the school give yiu no jiy, it may be worth calling 101 for advice. The police told me in the first instance they try to let the school deal with it, (they dealt with it as it was the third assault) but if the school are not bothering, then you need to take it further.
