Habitat customer service gone mad... can anyone beat this?

I know I'm BU really, but here goes.

We ordered a table from Habitat in the sale. Very exciting. Anyway, since we ordered it nearly two weeks ago, we've had an automated phone call from them every day, asking whether we would DEFINITELY be in on the day we chose, that the table would DEFINITELY fit the space, that we'd made sure we'd measured correctly and that we still wanted to go ahead with the delivery. As DH and I are adults, and not 5yr olds, yes, we still wanted the table, we WERE going to be in, and surprisingly, we had made sure it would fit. We had to listen to the end of the message every sodding time because you had to press 2 (or whatever) if you still wanted to go ahead with the order.

Twice we had real people ringing up to check the same thing. In the end, the phone would ring and DH or I would say, 'It's probably our daily Habitat phone call', and invariably, it was!

Yesterday we got the daily 'are you sure you want your table?' message, then another one saying the driver would ring today. This morning the driver rang, then half an hour later we got an automated BT text phone call thingy saying the table was due imminently. It rang as the lorry was backing up down the road!

Now either they've had some really bad experiences with people sending stuff back or not being in, or some guy pressed the 'automated phone call to customer' button a few too many times, but it was so silly.

I know I'm BU as if the customer service was appalling I'd probably be on here ranting about lack of communication. But it really was just so over-the-top. Never mind. I've got my nice new table now. Hope it fits!

Anyone else got a customer service gone mad story?

Sorry but 'pile of wood' made me laugh!

Now I hope your keeping the table. When reading this I thought that towards the end we would find out that it was canceled last minute. Now that would have been funny Grin

Our local Habitat used to have a big display board detailing horror stories where people hadn't thought through how they were going to get vast sofas into their house. Lots of pictures if bits of house and windows, fences, walks being demolished.
It's obviously a big concern for them.

I hope your hip feels better soon.

I bet they will now ring you for a customer satisfaction survey..
