to complain about this?

My first AIBU, please be gentle.

Tesco delivery this afternoon, bloody fingerprint on milk carton (see pic)

Should I complain? Im not squeamish or particularly nervous about blood, but honestly it's a bit grim & potentially a health hazard...

To give context/avoid dripfeeding deliveryman was V rushed and unhelpful, didn't have a recipt for me & didn't get me to sign his little machine (stuttering something about me 'being on the wrong delivery' & that I'd 'get an email')
When I flagged up I'd had issues with missing items before his reponse was 'don't worry, it's all there' as he backed up the path away from me.

Yeah, all there plus some added blood, I now see.

This is gross & sloppy, right?!

Eurgh... Grim!

Is it definitely blood? I would have to bin it because it would trouble me everytime i got it out of the fridge, even if i washed it.

FatCunt · 15/03/2015 18:24

Ew.

Are you sure it's blood?

TBH the rest of it justifies a complaint - you should've been offered a receipt.

GoofyIsACow · 15/03/2015 18:25

I think if it was me, i would want to complain... Talk a good talk, then forget to actually do it!

TheSingingMonkey · 15/03/2015 18:26

That's grim.

londonrach · 15/03/2015 18:27

Poor guy. Did you give him a plaster. What did he hurt himself on. :-(

AgentProvocateur · 15/03/2015 18:28

FGS, he maybe got a paper cut or something. Just wash it off! The other issues are more complaint-worthy, but the poor guy will probably get disciplined. Up to you...

PerpetualStudent · 15/03/2015 18:35

He didn't tell me he'd hurt himself though - if he had I obviously would have helped. Couldn't get two words in though as he couldn't get out of here fast enough!

Im not 100% it's blood (how would you check?!) But that's very much what it looked like. Given the milk a good rinse, but feel a bit grossed out now...

It probably wasn't from the delivery man. It could have been from the person that picked your shopping in store. I'd drop them an email.

Suefla62 · 15/03/2015 19:14

Doesn't look like blood, more like a piece of squashed fruit.

Seriously? Hmm

It's on the carton which is easily washed-too bright for bkood, a quick sniff would probably have confirmed squashed fruit...

TruJay · 15/03/2015 19:28

If it is blood I know they would take it seriously, we were shopping in Tesco recently and went to buy a crate of beer as a thank you to a friend for doing a favour and several of the crates had bloody fingerprints and blood drips all over them, it was pretty gross. Told a staff member and they were removed from the shelves immediately. I wouldn't use the milk myself.

BolshierAyraStark · 15/03/2015 19:30

Ffs, the milk is in a sealed container.

TruJay · 15/03/2015 19:38

I agree it does sound a bit silly not to use it as it is sealed but if you picked it off the shelf in the shop and it had blood on it would you put it in the trolley and just think oh I'll wipe it off at home or would you put it back and take home one without blood on it. I'd swap it for one without blood but hey that's just me, everyone's different.

TheAnalyst · 15/03/2015 19:38

It's pretty gross. You don't know what it is, you don't know what else it's on. Check your other stuff and don't feel bad about complaining about this.

LadySybilLikesSloeGin · 15/03/2015 19:43

That's not blood, it's too red. Blood gets darker as it's exposed to air too. It looks like it's rubbed against a colour on a sticker/whatever from another packet whilst in transit and a little has rubbed off onto it. Just wipe it off Hmm

FatCunt · 15/03/2015 19:56

That's not blood, it's too red.

Anyone else imagining a slightly macabre children's book?

"That's not blood, it's too runny."

"That's not blood, it's too gloopy."

"That's blood, it's so gory."

PerpetualStudent · 15/03/2015 20:02

I couldn't sniff it, I have a hideous cold!

Grin

What about...

"That's not my poo, it's too runny."

"That's not my poo, it's too lumpy."

Think there's already a poo book like this.

firesidechat · 15/03/2015 20:12

Loving the alternative book ideas.

Another one who thinks that it doesn't look like blood. Old dried blood is quite dark in colour. This looks too bright.

SharkCat · 15/03/2015 20:21

might not be blood, looks like ink. Complain though if you want they will probably give u next delivery free

PiratePanda · 15/03/2015 20:24

Too bright to be blood I would have thought. More like squashed strawberries.
