To think supermarket food is better than takeaways?

Whenever I've had a takeaway I tend to find it ok but a bit disappointing, especially considering the price. However for a lot less money I can buy a really nice 'takeaway style' meal from the likes of Waitrose or M&S, it only takes a few minutes to heat in the microwave /oven, is always hot, hopefully the meat is decent quality (I'm always dubious about the quality of takeaway meat) and tastes great.

I particularly rate Waitrose curries and their pizza is brilliant. The exception would be fish and chips which tastes best fresh at a seaside takeaway Grin anyone agree?

Depends on the takeaway I suppose by work in an Indian resturant that also does takeaway. It's MILES better than a supermarket ready meal which will be full of additives and preservatives to keep it fresh and extra salt and sugar replace the flavour that fades after the food has been sat around for weeks whereas work most things are made from sctratch to order and are literally 'homemade'

Define take away ?

There's a place near me that does amazing burritos. Made fresh with whatever meat/veg you want.

I'd choose that over say a morrisons pizza.

Oh god no, supermarket take away meals, particularly the Chinese ones, are vile. Just don't taste authentic at all, horrible glooky sauces. We have really good takeaways around us though so I just wouldn't consider it.

The chicken in the M&S meals is really horrible IMO. I love the duck spring rolls though.

DH likes the Morrisons ones, I don't mind them but the curries are not a patch on our usual take away.

I prefer the Morrisons Chinese food to take away though. I don't like the way Chinese Restaurants cook the meat, it's always chewy and rubbery. I've tried loads of different ones in various parts of the country and aside from crispy duck, I never like the meat.

I've never had a supermarket pizza that matches Dominos, Pizza Express or lovely local Pizza place. Even PE supermarket ones are not the same.

I've never tried Waitrose ready meals. I bought pork fillet from there recently which was disgusting and also was really disappointed with the bread too.
