Garden problems

Name change in case this outs me.
Sorry if it's a long one.
My neighbour (who I really got on with) recently exchanged houses but before they did they had their garden re paved.
Whilst doing this they put all their garden toys (swing, slide, bike,,,,) on the top of their shed. It's hard to explain but our sheds share a roof, and the toys spilled over to my side, I wasn't bothered at the time.
So 4 months later after the garden has long been completed and the occupants have exchanged the toys are still there.
The new neighbours (who are also lovely) have told me the old neighbour can't take them as she's moved to a flat and is wanting to sell them. To be honest they are rusty and worn, I doubt anyone would want to buy them.
After recent winds the slide has fallen off the roof and into my garden. I've asked the neighbour if I can pop it back over the fence (I'm not putting it back on the shed roof for it to fall on one of my kids,,, it's not even my slide), it's big rusty and my gardens tiny to start with.
She's said no cos it's not her slide either (she's agreed to hold on to them) and to get in touch with the old neighbour. I've tried and she's not responding.
What do I do? AIBU to throw the thing out? I know it's just a slide but it's in my garden and it's not mine!

are you able to get in touch with the previous owner? If yes, tell them they have 3 days to remove the slide otherwise you will be disposing of it

PrettyLittleMitty · 15/03/2015 09:38

If new neighbour has agreed to hold on to the stuff then she needs to takethe slide back and contact old neighbour. She has an aagreement with old neighbour, you dont.

AlternativeTentacles · 15/03/2015 09:39

I'd just put it over the fence, she has agreed to hang onto it, not you. This might get her to sort it out.

Take it to the tip. If neighbour comes back for it deny all knowledge/say the wind blew it away/it fell into your garden and broke into pieces.

Your old neighbour won't be coming back for the stuff though I guarantee that.

keepsmiling2015 · 15/03/2015 13:24

I'd 100% dump it

JoanHicksonMIfive · 15/03/2015 13:27

Dump it and ignore your old neighbour as she has done to you.

ClumsyNinja · 15/03/2015 13:30

Your old neighbour isn't coming back for it this side of Christmas. Dump it.

AlternativeTentacles · 15/03/2015 13:35

Why should she take it to the dump? She is not a paid worker!

JustDerppingAround · 15/03/2015 13:40

If you can't contact the old owner I'd leave it at the front of the house beside the road with a big sign saying 'FREE'

Someone will probably take it for the metal if nothing else.

LovelyBranches · 15/03/2015 13:43

Stuff like this irritates me. Why was it left on a roof in the first place.

Dump it
