One of my dc is currently crying into the arms of their dad in their bedroom struggling with their first migraine. They're 9.

I feel so guilty about this because they come from me. I just want to take it all away from them and stop the pain.

OP one of our DCs has severe food allergies (anaphylaxis). DH said once he felt really guilty because his side of the family has eczema/asthma/allergies so DS must have "got it from him."

I was utterly aghast at DH blaming himself and told him not to be so stupid.

FF a couple of years and my nephew had anaphylactic shock due to a food allergy! Oh how bad did I feel then, when I realised that DS had probably "got it" from MY side of the family? I totally understood how DH had felt then.

My daughter has a heart condition inherited from me. I feel massively guilty but I know in my rational brain it's not my fault.
