To think how ed miliband looks or eats is not going to effect how he runs the country

It really annoys me why does it matter if he has two kitchens or eats a bacon sandwich wrong. Why do people scrutinise him so much and not Cameron.

I'm Not even a labour voter but it just brings politics so far down.

YANBU. But equally, if he had anything real to offer people might focus less on the dorky appearance and bacon sandwich smearing issues.

As it is he's a Labour prince who inherited his standing in the party, the. stabbed his brother in the back to take the top job. Since doing so he has used his time as leader to cement the party's position as a metropolitan club of champagne socialists with a track record of condescending to blue collar Britain and precisely bog all to offer except the politics of envy.

bodingading · 13/03/2015 19:14

God, he makes me so angry. The Labour Party makes me so fucking furious. At least the Tories don't pretend to be anything other than vicious toffs on a mission to sell off all our assets and grind us all into the dirt. In fact they revel in it! They cheer on live TV as they take bread from the mouths of the poor.

It's the pretence that kills me with New Labour. They think we're all so bloody stupid.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 13/03/2015 19:38

He really must think we're all stupid to pull a stunt like that ... but apparently he's now said that "they only use the small kitchen"

So that's all right, then Confused

I expect his two boys have got safe seats earmarked already, in true Labour dynasty tradition.

TheChandler · 13/03/2015 19:41

Actually, I think how he comes across (which probably involves looks, amongst other things) is very relevant to the reaction he will receive from others. I mean, it seems to affect everyone else that way, so I don't suppose a new Prime Minister would be any different.

I can't imagine him commanding so much respect amongst European leaders as Cameron. And Cameron is respected in Europe - he doesn't get walked all over.

I see Ed Miliband as a sort of modern day Neil Kinnock, with the rough edges knocked off but probably more easily manipulated.

Pyjamasandwine · 13/03/2015 19:45

He's a monumental twat. Not as bad as poor old Cleggy but bad enough.

30somethingm · 13/03/2015 19:45

I like Ed. He is courageous and was amazing in the BBC Free Speech programme last night. The press have hammered him, so I now expect people to be pleasantly surprised when they see him discussing policies in the election campaign

wasabipeanut · 13/03/2015 19:52

It shouldn't be an issue but it somehow is. Presumably he approved that picture and thought it made him look like a normal person that lived in a normal house. In fact, it just proved how utterly out of touch he is with people's lives. As a frustrated leftie who actually wants a decent alternative to the Tories it frustrates me so much. Why does he persist on trying to be something he isn't?

He also should have known about the home owning obsession with kitchens. This was always going to end up being blown out of proportion.

He's a clever bloke - more so than Cameron, but he's failing.

Grin Grin Is ANYONE as bad as poor old Cleggy? I don't think so Grin

jonicomelately · 14/03/2015 17:55

Anybody who describes Ed Milliband as 'courageous' has, IMO, a weird idea of what defines courage.

hiddenhome · 14/03/2015 19:48

He's a bumbling fool. Like somebody out of Blackadder or something Hmm

SylvaniansAtEase · 14/03/2015 20:00

What's with all the lowercase and badly thought out ed milliband love today? Has he released some staff from Kitchen II on a mission to woo us all?

hiddenhome · 14/03/2015 20:04

It's probably his party's lame and pathetic attempt at winning over the electorate Grin

Randomname46875 · 14/03/2015 20:13

I don't like the guy but he's a better option than Call Me Dave and Cleggy.

I have always voted Labour but Ed is the least likeable leader.

Randomname46875 · 14/03/2015 20:14

Least likeable leader of Labour I mean. Clearly he's more likeable than DC or NC.

Roseformeplease · 14/03/2015 20:18

Every single one of them is from London, or near London. I wish they did more than pay lip service to the regions.

Suzannewithaplan · 14/03/2015 20:23

hard to say, but I doubt that it will affect how he runs the country

ghostyslovesheep · 14/03/2015 20:26

well this thread is from yesterday Hmm

still correcting grammar will go down really really well :) it's a good measure of the poster that does that

Suzannewithaplan · 14/03/2015 20:30

I could care less:)

QueenStromba · 14/03/2015 20:31

His smaller kitchen is bigger than our only kitchen! I bet our rent is more than his mortgage too.

ghostyslovesheep · 14/03/2015 20:33

yes that's obvious

Alisvolatpropiis · 14/03/2015 20:44

I don't care how he eats, how many kitchens he has or that he doesn't look "right".

You vote for the party not the individual leading it. A concept which appears to totally bypass a huge majority of intelligent adults, never mind the less intelligent ones.

jonicomelately · 14/03/2015 20:58

A lot of Labour Party supporters have been saying for a long time now thy don't want Ed Milliband leading the party, never mind the country which is what will happen if we all vote Labour. The trouble is the party has become too fucking arrogant to listen to it's supporters.

Fugacity · 14/03/2015 21:01

Milliband is an idiot, bacon sandwich or not.

I really don't see the appeal beyond the Donald Duck variety.

Foodforthesoul · 14/03/2015 21:36

Thechandler I agree. I think it does matter.
This man wants to represent our country on the global stage and frankly he is not up to it. The fact that we are discussing the way he eats a bacon sandwich and has two kitchens means there is nothing else worthy of discussing. This from the man who leads one of the big two political parties. He makes Labour unelectable for me and sorry, this may be me being soft, but I hate what he did to his brother. For me says something about loyalty and trust and as a result I don't trust him.

In terms of my political affiliation I suppose you would describe me as a swing voter...however, Ed just does not do it for me.
