Feeling down in the dumps with no self confidence and like I am just a rubbish person, bloated swollen everywhere..... I know this means my period is coming. Which has made me realise (clockwork cycle) I wil be feeling like this on my wedding day.

It's not the bleeding that bothers me so much (although changing tampons would be annoying) it is feeling like this and looking like this. So I don't think taking northisterone just before the wedding will help.

Does anyone know..... If I take northisterone the month before the wedding does it reset your cycle so that i can time my period for 2 weeks before the wedding and then be mid cycle on the day? Do you think it's worth giving a go? Or is there anything else you can recommend?
TIA, please please don't have a go at me for writing in the wrong place, if I've annoyed you please just ignore the thread. I really don't want to cry!

Don't know if this will help or not but you can get drugs which will delay your periods by a few days - you start taking them a few days before then when you stop your period follows a couple of days later. I took them when I was going on holiday once - go to your GP

Ah thanks! It's in fun and games I have been searching on and off for a while thank you. I am feeling more positive now after dragging myself out for a jog. So....a jog on the morning of the wedding and I will at least be all endorphined up and feel better. Thanks for the replies and help!

Thanks Steben the delaying drug is northisterone or however it is spelt... I worry that that drug would prolong my pjs.

Pms not pjs!

What about going in the pill? You can take 2 packs back to back to recent periods. It's what I do if I have a holiday coming up.

Scholes34 · 13/03/2015 16:55

OP, you're getting married - congratulations! Someone loves you!!

The combined pill helped me with pms and bloating. You can take packs back to back instead of having a weeks break. I used to be able to time my period on microgynon, two days into the seven days break it would start and would stop on day three of the next pack.

If your wedding is far enough away you could start taking it now and see if it helps with the pms symptoms.

Even if you don't think northisterone will help with the pmt, it would be worth taking to not have to change tampons in a wedding dress. It was bad enough trying to go for a pee in my dress, never mind trying to change a tampon.

Chocolatefudgebrownieicecream · 13/03/2015 17:21

Yes the combined pill might help, I don't know why I didn't think of that, Thank you thats a great idea. And yes tampons and wedding dresses are probably not the best combination! And if the pill doesn't suit me I've got enough time to try and then stop.

Genius oh thank you I am so much happier now! Of course the pill! I can time it even if I have to stop it because it doesn't suit!
