That's how many people have signed a petition in support of Jeremy Clarkson being reinstated. I suspect they may feel differently about it if it was them getting punched at work!

Part of me wonders if the BBC are reporting this to excuse the fact that they intend to overlook Clarkson's unrelentingly dickish behaviour yet again?

I don't think he's God. That would be Rob Lowe. Or Gareth Malone.

BoneyBackJefferson · 11/03/2015 20:46

As no one actually knows what happened its interesting to see those hating clarkson calling others names.

Surely without the facts its to early to call for anything.

engeika · 11/03/2015 20:49

I'm sorry - do we know what happened yet? I might have missed it and if I have I'm sorry - but what are the facts?

caroldecker · 11/03/2015 20:50

The BBC owns the Top gear brand, but the production company which makes the show is 50% owned by the BBC, with JC owning 30%.

Sparklingbrook · 11/03/2015 20:52

No facts as yet engeika. It's all about speculation and insults at the moment.

BreakWindandFire · 11/03/2015 20:56

If you put the poor producer's name into Twitter, the majority are calling for him to be suspended and sacked instead of Clarkson, calling him a pipsqueak, a snitch, a wimp, hated by millions for preventing the broadcast of Top Gear. Oh and a lot point out that his name isn't exactly Anglo Saxon, so he deserved it. Victim blaming doesn't just apply to women.

Sparklingbrook · 11/03/2015 20:58

We don't know what he's the victim of. The name calling on both sides is a bit. Hmm

CornChips · 11/03/2015 21:15

No-one knows what happened except for the people involved and the BBC.

And the BBC have suspended him. Which means that what happened is actually pretty serious.

SnowBells · 11/03/2015 21:17

If he did it, then YANBU.

poorbuthappy · 11/03/2015 21:23

Suspension is all well and good, but unless the police are involved people are always going to call foul.
Simply because of the history, the transfer of ownership of the brand etc.

Just for once wouldn't it be nice to just get the fucking facts and be able to make an informed decision?

passmethewineplease · 11/03/2015 21:28

YANBU.

No one should go in to work and be assaulted.

All these shit people are sharing about him is a load of bollocks.

HE isn't outspoken he's just a dick.

silverbangles66 · 11/03/2015 21:41

Can anyone actually say what really happened?

Or would that spoil the kangaroo court.

We love TG in our house, and we have women and minorities and everything Blush

Sparklingbrook · 11/03/2015 22:20

Nobody is interested in what really happened silver, it would get in the way of the speculation and insults....

Samcro · 11/03/2015 22:23

no one really knows what happened..

SteppeAwayFromTheKeyboard · 11/03/2015 22:26

according to radio 4 tonight, Top gear is owned by BBC World (which isn't the same as the BBC) and it brings in £50 million per year for the BBC.
He will be reinstated because of the money.

Willow33 · 11/03/2015 22:49

Yanbu. If it is found that he def punched the producer, then I will happily sign a petition to get him ousted from BBC.

drudgetrudy · 11/03/2015 22:49

YANBU

AWholeLottaNosy · 11/03/2015 23:00

I do find this a bit suspicious when their contracts are up for renewal at the moment. Is this a way to get out of the contracts and move to a more lucrative gig? ( don't know, just speculating, as think JC has had a lot of disputes with the BBC and may want to move on...)

sqibble · 11/03/2015 23:02

Did anybody else hear David Cameron singing his praises on the news earlier today?

"Speaking to BBC Midlands Today, Cameron said: "Because he is a talent and he does amuse and entertain so many people including my children, who would be heartbroken if Top Gear was taken off air, I hope this can be sorted out.

He's a friend - I hope it can be sorted out," he added"

The Chipping Norton set is alive and well.

passmethewineplease · 11/03/2015 23:14

Tbf I've always regarded him as a bit of a wanker long before these recent alleged events.

Greenrememberedhills · 11/03/2015 23:22

JC thinks he is God. Rather, he is an insufferable bore.
