Or am I being a sad old dear? I recently split up with DP and I am okay with it so I don't think this is a rebound thing. This youngster is funny and nice and we've only text so far, no date or kiss or anything, but I just feel like maybe I'm being a bit silly. He is not in the least bothered about the age gap, and I have dated younger fellas before, but very casually. I think I quite like this bloke so maybe that's why I'm more worried about it?? Might just be gun shy after last relationship as it was very hard at times. Do I need to get a grip?

Oh, we don't look the same age but that doesn't worry me too much. Will have to wait and see on the values and interests. The only problem is keeping up with the young fella. Went to see him at work last night and it's resulted in a massive hang over and trying not to vomit on my desk. Praying I didn't make too much of a tit of myself.

No, I don't mean its some kind of rule about looking the same age, just something that personally I consider. (I look young for my age and pretty much most men the same age as me look like they come from another generation).

Enjoy!

Oh, I see! I think I look roughly my age and he looks a couple of years older than he is. We did have a bit of a snog last night but I can't actually remember it.

My mum met her partner when she was 35 or 36 and he was 10 years younger. They've been together now over 30 years. He does say he was probably not mature enough then to take on 2 young children.

A good friend met her DH at 35, he's about 7-8 years younger, they're happily married now both with 2 under fives. Didn't bother him, she was concerned at first with his younger friends but it all worked out fine.

Don't worry it's only a date!

Nabootique · 10/03/2015 11:43

I am now looking forward to it! Now, what to wear...?

Oh! And another thing I'll put to the MN jury. He calls me babe. Is this allowed as long as it doesn't decline into babes? Or babez

I met my DH when he was 20 and I was 27. I'm 37 this year and we're still together three children later. YANBU.
