Yus, yus, usual disclaimers, maybe I'm a joyless cow, etc!
I just find it so painfully unfunny.
Example: one week on bake-off they had to make self saucing puddings. Cue 500 repetitions of "self saaaauuucing" in increasingly poncy, creepy voices.
Further example at school today: Could you help me grab the balls before PE? Cue delighted shrieks and screeches at the word "balls" being used in the same sentence as "grab".
Please say it's not just me who is left cold by this humour?!

BALLS!! :o

CtrlAltDelicious · 05/03/2015 18:19

Oh god!! Grin
Actually, I take back this OP - I've just watched a "prank" video on FB of a bloke pretending to have the shits in an elevator and had tears in my eyes from laughter. Guess that's not everybody's cup of tea either!

I find some of that stuff funny. That's because I'm a raging pervert Grin

SoMauve · 05/03/2015 18:24

Balls Eh, eh...nudge nudge, wink wink.

flora717 · 05/03/2015 18:24

That's what she said!

RoosterCogburnIsInTheJakes · 05/03/2015 18:25

See, I think I must be very childish.

When I first started teaching and our elderly straight laced head teacher asked the young shy hot male PE teacher "will your balls be big enough for this activity Mr X" I had to leave the staffroom.

Nobody else even smiled.

fattymcfatfat · 05/03/2015 18:26

I laugh...probably because I am immature have a dirty mind. something can be said completely innocently and my mind will twist it to make it rude. im always giggling to myself...

TurnOverTheTv · 05/03/2015 18:27

There is nothing more hilarious than a bit of filth. I can generally reduce my boss to fits of giggles with a well timed eyebrow raise at the mention of some words.

CtrlAltDelicious · 05/03/2015 18:29

Actually, I did silently laugh at one of my pupils the other day.
"Miss, is 'pulled off' a prepositional phrase?"

Come on OP, what about your username?

I mean 'Ctrl Alt Delicious'. You definitely can't be joyless with a username like that Grin Wink

MrsGrimes · 05/03/2015 19:31

I admit, I laugh at double entendres

MrsGrimes · 05/03/2015 19:35

Oops, accidentally pressed send.

I admit, I laugh at double entendres, especially the unintentional ones. But there was a girl in college many moons ago who tried turning everything into a double entendre, even if it made zero sense.

"I'm getting chips for lunch" "OOOH, CHIPS EH! LUNCH! wink

Okay that conversation didn't happen but you get the idea. Mundane words somehow became something dirty. Odd girl!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 05/03/2015 19:38

I yelled (work in a loud, busy customer environment) 'keep your hands off my jugs' to my young work colleague. To make matters worse he was too busy crying with laughter to notice his milk almost spilled over and he said 'my milk almost erupted because of you'
It ended up being a very silly day.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 05/03/2015 19:39

And they were completely unintentional.

ErrolTheDragon · 05/03/2015 19:39

Double entendre humour is necessary when you're a parent. I mean, for instance, you can be happily snurking about something on I'm Sorry I haven't A Clue, while your innocent child just looks puzzled.

MumToFourCats · 05/03/2015 20:09

I find smut in the most innocent of conversations. Blush

Fuckup · 05/03/2015 20:10

yabvvu about the puns, although tbf I think its the cringyness that makes them funny Grin

Andrewofgg · 05/03/2015 20:13

ErrolTheDragon Remember Round The Horne?

If not watch out next time it comes up on Radio 4 Extra. I promise you a treat!

Trills · 05/03/2015 20:13

I like word-based humour.

Hate cringey humour that's based on people being embarrassed or doing things where they should be embarrassed (e.g. The Office).

confusedandemployed · 05/03/2015 20:17

YABU. Carry On, Round The Horne, Up Pompeii....glorious one and all. Kenneth Williams is my absolute hero. Mmmmmmatron.

confusedandemployed · 05/03/2015 20:19

Andrew I remember my dad introducing me to Round The Horne en route to the south of France by car. I still listen to it weekly, nearly 30 years after that road trip. It's wonderful. How bona to varder your dolly old eek again.

CPtart · 05/03/2015 20:21

YABU. It's the thing I find funniest. DH recently told me he was working with a woman called Pearl Nicholas. We fell about laughing for hours!

confusedandemployed · 05/03/2015 20:29

Snigger. Pearl Nicholas!!

ScrambledEggAndToast · 05/03/2015 20:50

Talking of Pearl Nicholas, I still laugh to this day at my colleague's auntie.
