my boiler is fucked with a capital F!

basically to get the fucker to work we have to leave the entire unit on low (radiator dials turned as low as they'll physically go) just to keep it on or else it does what its fucking done tonight and will not come back on or give hot water. We turned it off and text the boiler bloke (number provided by landlord) to say it isn't working again, to which we've received no response, baring in mind we have a 3 week old and a 2 year old, both of whom need baths. My hair is full of vomit, and I'm just so fucking annoyed that after the amount the baldy fucker charges every month we should have a working fucking boiler!!!!!!

argh I'm so mad. It's been one thing after the other here, my kitchen window won't open :( aibu? or is he doing as much as he needs to? Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry

Did you call the landlord? Or just the boilerman?

RavioliOnToast · 04/03/2015 19:00

landlord initially a few weeks ago, then the boilerman came.out and told me to just get in touch with him in future if it went off.again (it's.a.temperamental thing- will go off for days then just click back.on, which is when we leave it on permanent for another few weeks)

I'm just dreading the gas bill...

Call the landlord again.

HelenaDove · 04/03/2015 19:04

Which plumbing and heating company is your landlord using?

SurlyCue · 04/03/2015 19:06

Well call the landlord again, how is he to know it isnt fixed unless you tell him? He will just assume it was all sorted as he never heard from you.

NerrSnerr · 04/03/2015 19:08

Get on the phone to the landlord. He can do more if you let him know.

BlackHillsofDakota · 04/03/2015 19:10

Yes he should fix it 100% but why did you turn it off if you knew it wouldn't come back on?

wowfudge · 04/03/2015 19:10

Has the boiler been gas safety checked and was it serviced at the same time?

You need to contact the landlord every time there's an issue with it.

RavioliOnToast · 04/03/2015 19:11

It's one of his mates who does boilers. Like an independent person. the boiler man told the landlord it wasn't fixed apparently cause he asked how much he wanted paying. I'm so cross.

the boiler was gas safety checked and tested on Thursday (not this Thursday, a few weeks ago) and the problem started on the Saturday (2 days after)

we turned it off this morning like the boiler person said to do so that it'd be broken again when he came out. except today when it has stayed broken he's ignoring us.

But was it also serviced when it was tested? The tenant's copy of the certificate will tell you and also if there were any remarks from the tester.

RavioliOnToast · 04/03/2015 19:15

Ooh will check that when I get back from sw

It was working fine before it was safety checked from what you say so I would wonder if something was done which has affected it's performance or is it purely coincidence? Also, worth posting about the boiler issue in Property/DIY so PigletJohn can help diagnose the issue.
