We've always stuck with camping, have about a trillion kids (so a lot of travel agents seem to think, 5 actually including an infant) but would love to have a 'proper' holiday this summer.
I'm even thinking whispers all inclusive. Because, to be honest, holidays have always consisted of being mithered but with different scenery and all the same household jobs etc.

So fine folk of MN, can you help me? Around mid August, flying from North West England for a week with 5 kids aged 1, 7, 9, 14 and 15?
Oh yes, and costing about ten pence each please Grin.

I'll have a look. .I'm bored and quite like holiday planning. Can you remind me of summer holidays start/end date (mine are grown). And 1 week or two?

I put the details you gave into www.jet2holidays.com and it came up with this, which if the link doesn't work is a 2 bed apartment for 2 adults, 4 DCs and a free infant in Tossa de Mar on the Costa Brava for 4400 AI. Flying from Manchester on 10th August for a week. Obviously the sticking point will be close how 4400 is to your requirement of 10 pence each Smile.

We've had some good deals with Jet2holidays and suggest you have a play around with their website for various areas of Spain, probably best for value, to see what they offer. Or talk to a travel agent to see if they can help. Or easyjetholidays from Liverpool, or the likes of Thomas Cook etc online.

With AI, it depends what sort of food you want and how you want it served (I don't like buffets for evening meals, which you tend to get unless a very expensive hotel, but it might work for you because all the DCs can just pick what they like).

Alternative would be to book flights and a SC apartment (either separately or as a package) but then you would either be looking at eating out, which can work out more expensive or having to do shopping/cooking etc, which can be easy food, but depends how your DCs cope with unfamiliar foreign food. Sometimes it is possible to get a villa with a housekeeper/cook - this might be cheaper than All Inclusive?

Manchester to Barcelona flights are coming in at £120/full fare so £500 for all of you in august on Skyscanner.

Holidays lettings villa or apartment on the coast in sitges or calella or similar.

£120 flights in July for Notts to majorca. Total half board for 7 including flights £1197

First Choice had some random free child places last week. You'll have to play around with the dates though. I can't imagine a week for all of you with them will cost less than £3500.

Any chance of driving and/ or holding your nerve for late availability? We had a week fully inclusive for under £400 in the alps for a family of five with evening and daytime childcare and all meals including packed lunches.

I think Acorn Activity Holidays are all inclusive/full board. Would be camping/mobile home rather than hotels.
