'No woman should ever propose to a man. Certainly not one with a naff bum-fluff beard and dodgy squint'

This is Katie Hopkins on Danny Dyers engagement after his girlfriend proposed after 25 years. I tend to agree with Katie here. And it made me laugh. Blush

RachelWatts · 02/03/2015 15:05

Well Danny Dyer is certainly not my type, but this is 2015. Why shouldn't a woman propose to a man?

SergeantJarhead · 02/03/2015 15:08

I won't comment on Kunty Hopkins but will state without any shame that 6 months into my relationship now DH I asked him how long he thought two people ought to be together before getting engaged, he said six months, it had been six months so that was that xD

Staywithme · 02/03/2015 15:09

She's a dick. I proposed to my husband and we've been happily married for 22yrs. She should go back to the fifties.

LadyDeadpool · 02/03/2015 15:10

Usual Hopkins spiteful bullshit. How pleasant she must be to laugh at others conditions that can't be helped.

Staywithme · 02/03/2015 15:11

Also, would it be acceptable if she'd made derogatory comments about a woman?

crocodiledundeelady · 02/03/2015 15:11

I proposed to my husband. Why on earth 'shouldn't' I have?

StillaChocoholic · 02/03/2015 15:13

I would've proposed but he beat me too it. YABU.

PeaceOfWildThings · 02/03/2015 15:16

Nothing wrong with a woman proposing, even if she does have a naff bum fluff beard and a squint. Rude woman.

MrsTerryPratchett · 02/03/2015 15:17

Women should definitely propose if they want to, but never to Danny Dyer. Insults are great when they are based on the fact that he is a talent-less, nasty, threatening wanker. Not on his appearance.

pressone · 02/03/2015 15:18

Very childishly I had to smile at his response -"No I agree...especially when you look like ya face should be on the side of a gothic building..have a nice day ya daft sexist".

Don't have an issue with a woman proposing to a man.

Middlerose · 02/03/2015 15:21

Their Twitter spat is quite funny!

ApocalypseThen · 02/03/2015 15:32

I think calling someone a sexist when you advocated slitting a woman's face open so she'd be less attractive is...interesting.

There can be degrees in these things.

crazykat · 02/03/2015 15:59

What's wrong with a woman proposing? It's 2015 not 1915.

I was going to propose to dh but he got there first.

MamaMotherMummy · 02/03/2015 17:22

I looked over at DH on the sofa and said 'do you wanna get married?'
He said 'yeah good idea'

Does that count as a proposal?

oldcroneat39 · 02/03/2015 17:25

The woman is beyond tedious. She reminds me of the Pratchett character who hated all southerners (if you inferred he was on the south pole). She has nothing nice to say.

Trills · 02/03/2015 17:25

No woman should ever think twice about doing something simply because Katie Hopkins disapproves.

In fact, Katie Hopkins disapproving would be in the "pro" column for any decision that I was weighing up.

TheRealAmandaClarke · 02/03/2015 17:28

She is horrid.
And not funny.

SaucyJack · 02/03/2015 17:30

Joanne Mas shouldn't have proposed to Danny Dyer, granted, but generally speaking it's a load of bunkum.

MajorasMask · 02/03/2015 17:32

I'm not a fan of Danny Dyer at all, especially after he joked in an advice column that someone should cut their girlfriend's face so that no man would have her. However Katie Hopkins is entirely wrong here (and holds a whole host of other awful opinions) and Mr Dyer and his fiancee seem happy and clearly committed to each other. Old fashioned attitudes about proposals trickle into every opinion about what a woman "should" or shouldn't do. I have agreed to 'let' DP propose to me as it means a lot to him but I have been tempted to do it and would not feel like a lesser woman if I did.

YouKnowNothinJonSnow · 02/03/2015 17:35

Well KH is loud mouthed attention seeking bint, as we all know. A woman can propose to a man whenever she feels like it I'm sure most women won't lose any sleep over KH disagreeing with their life choices.

But, what on earth Joanne Mas thinking in proposing to Dickhead Dyer? He's cheated on her at least twice in the past few years hasn't he? Shock He's an absolute wank of a man, and a poor excuse for an actor. She could do so much better.

YouKnowNothinJonSnow · 02/03/2015 17:36

MajorasMask I think the only think Dickhead Dyer is committed to is his cock!

AGirlCalledBoB · 02/03/2015 17:39

I think it's fine for a woman to propose this is 2015 after all.

However no one should propose to Danny Dyer, he has cheated a good few times hasn't he? Not exactly a sign for a good marriage

Cornettoninja · 02/03/2015 17:41

Shouldn't really shag other peoples husbands in the park either but it didn't stop that ridiculous woman doing it did it?

I don't think someone with the track record she's got should be dishing out relationship advice to anyone.

I will say that the woman clearly has some self esteem issues and probably just needs a little hug from someone who doesn't despise her every now and then, but I'm only posting that because on CBB she said people being nice to her made her cry and well, I want her to cry....

MajorasMask · 02/03/2015 17:47

Ah fair enough, I don't know much of their history - I wouldn't recommend marriage in that case then, but because of the cheating, not the proposal!
