AIBU to think this is inappropriate?

It's my DHs birthday today and I've saved up cards that were posted during the week. He received the one pictured and i have to admit to being a little bit offended...

DH is as confused as i was by why someone would send it (he's not that sort of page 3 bloke at all!). We had our 3rd baby just before Christmas so i guess i find it pretty weird to send someone a sexy/fantasy card when life is anything but!

As for who sent it, there was NO writing inside!! going by the handwriting on the envelope and the fact that no friends of ours post cards really i think it was his Mum who had a senior moment and forgot to write in it

Just odd all round. AIBU to think someone should know better when our baby is only 11 weeks old? He only has 4 cards, its not like i can shove it to the back of the mantlepiece

Reading that I would have thought that you would open it to find a picture of Pele or some other famous Brazilian inside.

OP I get it when you say about the baby thing, it's that feeling post birth for the first few months, extreme tiredness, a bit insecure and self conscious ,emotional and generally a bit fragile, things like this that would not be as important at other times but can feel a big deal at the moment. I do t mean to sound patronising, I just mean I understand why it's worse with a young baby even if other posters don't. Believe me you and your DH will be laughing remembering this moment one day.

I'd be worried about your MIL if you think she sent it.

Otherwise it's probably just a joke.

It's not great, but it's worth an eyeroll and tut at most.

I'd be pissed off. Strangest thing is that you keep it on show just because he only got 4 cards sod that rip it up! And as for it being his mum that sent it and didnt write in it that's strange in itself like she wanted to cause trouble.

YABU. Its only a silly joke card... Not quite sure why you're taking it so seriously?? Slightly odd if it is actually from the MIL though.

She didn't write it in ... so you can reuse it on her Birthday - if you don't write in it either then it could bounce around the family for ages! Look on it as your family's contribution to saving the planet!
