Ouch! On both little toes.
I've never had them before but years of ill fitting beautiful shoes have taken their toll!

What to do, oh vipers?

Laquila you need anti fungal tablets which have some bad side effects but come via gp. You sure its fungal as it could be nail polish damage or trauma depending on what it looks like. Even had one person whos 'fungal' nail was dye which ran from the one pair of shoes she wore. Personally i recommend topical treatments like curanail but be warned it takes one whole year of very religious treatment and i also advise treating the shoes, socks and feet with an antifungal treatment. Aso if you have nail polish thats been on the effected nail throw it. Another reason not to visit a nail bar as unless they have a different brush per customer..... Do also advise t tree oil but that only keeps it at bay. Again not seen your toe so advise is based on your description.

I have nail trauma on one nail. However if I go for a file and polish I ask the girls to use a new polish on me and then I buy it so it's not shared as I'm worried about getting a fungus infection.

What's the difference between podiatrist and chiropodist ?

thenextday · 19/03/2015 23:40

I vosoy my chiropodist in April every year to give my feet a once over and prep them for summer. Bliss.
I was irrationally happy when he told me I had beautiful arches.

Rednotpinkorgreen · 20/03/2015 00:03

Fascinating! What should a girl do about heel cracks?

Lovetheleaves · 20/03/2015 06:46

Settling have you visited the chiropodist ? I would imagine that is your first port of call.,

FrankSpencer · 27/03/2015 23:30

Bumping bumping!

HappySeven · 28/03/2015 18:06

I've been meaning to treat myself to a visit to a chiropodist (I run quite a bit and as I get older my feet seem to be showing signs of wear and tear). I keep chickening out thinking either that they are too embarrassing to take or I have a go myself and think they're ok and I'll leave it a bit.

After reading this thread I think I'll book myself in - they can't be worse than anything you chiropodists have seen, can they?

londonrach · 28/03/2015 21:18

Believe me happy ive seen everything... You will be amazed how your feet feel after you see a qualified podiatrist... Www.feet.org for nearest professional to you....

GammonAndEgg · 28/03/2015 22:46

Ooh I lost my own thread! Grin

Well I went and had my feet done. I got told I had beautiful feet. I had a lovely chat, my toenails cut, a great file and told that what I thought were corns were not. I'm going every year!

Oh that's great! I'm waiting for my GP to refer me to an NHS chiropodist clinic. I am limping around and have done for nearly a week with discomfort and the bottom of my feet are 'crunchy' inside. It makes me cringe, blee.
I've always been mortified over my feet as I have foot deformity so they stay hidden under socks. Even in the height of summer. But I can't ignore it now. I may need to have surgery.
