Endo ablation can anyone help

I had endo ablation in November, since Xmas no bleed, all going well discharged by consultant, 2 weeks on and I've now started a bleed. What does this mean. How do I contact the consult it was a nhs referral to a private consult.
Does this mean it failed? And is my bleed likely to be back

My stress and upset level has just gone through the roof, I appreciate this may not be. A big deal to some but this has a full on affect on my life

Ablation doesn't necessarily mean no periods. Just that they will hopefully be lighter. I had one fairly heavy period, and thought the procedure had failed, but after that they have been really light. HTH.

I don't tjink the procedure guarantees the cessation of periods all together, but they should at least be much lighter.

I had mine about 18 months ago. I had periods for about 8 months afterwards. Not heavy, but better. Then they stopped and are now slowly reappearing.

I've had it done and my periods still carried on but they were lighter. It doesn't always stop periods unfortunately which is why I went on to have a hysterectomy last year and obviously that's the only way you can guarantee no more periods for sure.

What was explained to you in the consultations before the surgery? Ablation isn't guaranteed to stop periods - it should make them much much lighter but total lack of periods is very much a 'nice to have' that isn't guaranteed.

Stop panicking. Just because you are bleeding doesn't mean that you are going to go back to having periods that affect your life. The procedure is designed to get things so they are manageable. You might well be able to handle a few days of light bleeding each month if there is no pain etc. The only thing that can guarantee no more periods is a hysterectomy which is major surgery.

Look back at the info you were given about the procedure, take a deep breath and see how it goes. Absolutely if your periods return and are as unmanageable as they were before then insist on a referral back to the consultant but if you may find that the level of bleeding you have now is perfectly fine.
