to hate people being indecisive about where to go to eat?

Meeting up with two friends on Friday. In a group whatsapp and one asked "so where shall we eat then?" No suggestions themselves and still a day later the other person had not offered a suggestion.

So I said well what about X then? To which they both agreed. I knew neither of them would suggest anywhere.

I'm sure I'll be labelled as controlling but I'm genuinely not.

I just hate the conversation of -

Person A "Where do you want to eat?"
Person B "I don't mind, where do you want to eat?"
Person A "What about X?"
Person B "Erm ... yeah ok then"
Person A "We can go somewhere else?"
Person B "I don't mind"

YANBU, though this is the worst kind of person:

Me: "Where shall we go?"
Person: "Oh, I don't know, anywhere."
Me: "How about X?"
Person: "Oh no, I don't really fancy that."
Me: "Well how about Y?"
Person: "Hmm, no, I don't fancy that either."

YANBU, it's annoying, but I just see it as one of those weird British quirks where we all fall over ourselves trying to appear as polite and undemanding as possible.

Or when you get there and sit down, someone - having said they don't mind where they sit - decides that actually they'd rather be at another table . Always after I've taken my coat off and got settled Hmm

YANBU, and sometimes it's not 'polite', it's a lazy, buck-passing unwillingness to be held responsible for the choice of venue, but under the guise of 'being no trouble'. It's maddening.

Oh YA deffo NBU! This is my absolute pet hate! We went on holiday with friends who did this, except they did suggest places to eat, we went to the place they chose and when we got there they changed their minds! Three times! Was ready to scream by the end and eventually stormed off to a burger van Blush

I genuinely don't mind as long as it's not always happening. Sometimes I really have no inspiration and am happy to do/eat/try whatever.

The rule is you don't get to pull a face or start critiquing if you have no alternative. You turn up with a smile even if it's dire.

I hate it when they say:'i dont know,
You say 'how about pizza?'
They say 'yes thats fine'.

Then you go to pizza place and half way the meal they say in a martyr-ish tone that they hate pizza adding 'but it is ok, i don't mind'

Oh this drives me mad.
My parents are the worst. If we were ever looking for sone where to eat whilst on holiday, we could end up walking around a town for a good hour or so trying to decide which place to go into. They would look at every menu, peek in every window and then probably end up at the first place we saw. My dad would then declare part way through the meal that it was ok, but not as good as my mum could make, so we should have just stayed at the cottage.
