NAR appreciation and crazy parking lady thread 2

Nannyplum2015 · 19/02/2015 20:36

Just thought I'd start another thread as the other one looks like it will fill up soon! NDN has knocked again at NAR's house with no reply. I think she may be getting the message!

Can someone link the old thread as not sure how to do it.

Thanks

Could you offer to lend FONAR your car so that he could leave his in place over the weekend?

Or FONAR could borrow NAR's car and you could provide NAR with a taxi service for the weekend?

Go on, you know it's worth it Grin

Jacana · 20/02/2015 01:18

Now she's royally pissed off all her new neighbours, how long,do you reckon, before the For Sale boards go up at her place?Shock

MrsTerryPratchett · 20/02/2015 02:04

Or everyone else's places Jacana. Unless she is properly foiled this time.

Anyone got any blue cheese and crackers?

PinkSnowAndStars · 20/02/2015 03:02

I'm totally hooked on this. It's got to be the thread of the year so far.

Can we call it NARgate? ??

TheBlessedCheesemaker · 20/02/2015 05:16

I want your address so that I can sit outside NARs house on a camp chair and offer NDN some pombears when she next knocks on his door.

MythicalKings · 20/02/2015 06:07

Someone left the pompoms behind.

I love NAR and his friend.

Rememberallball · 20/02/2015 06:41

OLC (old lady chairs) thread was last year at sale time when, iirc, M&S put some rather hideously upholstered fetching reclining armchairs on their website for sale at an unbelievable price - think in the region of 50p/chair. Loads of mners ordered said chairs whilst wondering just wtf where they were going to put them when they were delivered. Then orders started disappearing and refunds were made when M&S cottoned on to the situation.

Made for a great weekends reading at the time but has probably lost something in my retelling!!

stinkingbishop · 20/02/2015 06:52

I am wondering whether NAR's very effective strategies could be applied to other problems of a global scale. Russia and Ukraine, for instance. Could we, instead of all these sanctions and ceasefires and threats of reprisals just take two massive armies, plonk them down either side of the Russians, blocking them in, and then just ignore Putin's metaphorical knocking for a while?

HicDraconis · 20/02/2015 06:54

Have been following threads and lurking but now finished work, it's the weekend (yay!) and thankfully have given up dieting for Lent - so on the third Wine and with a large bar of berry & biscuit chocolate to share round :)

MrsTP have crackers, Brie and boysenberry jam? (knocks socks off that cranberry stuff) plus a rather lovely Pinot Gris :)

No parking shenanigans to share, but settling into the thread anyway :)

SoupDragon · 20/02/2015 06:57

I really want Parking Woman to knock on NARs door and for him to say "do I look like I give a shit?" and slam the door.

stinkingbishop · 20/02/2015 07:06

Or "how many shits do you give now, hmm?"

SoupDragon · 20/02/2015 07:09

[happy sigh]

I'm easily pleased :)

PedantMarina · 20/02/2015 07:12

HicDraconis, on your third glass of wine at 6am?!? Please dont break my heart and tell me you don't live in GMT. I prefer to be impressed... Grin

Thumbwitch · 20/02/2015 07:18

Oh yes, Soupy, that would be excellent! Grin Or stinkingbishop's idea, either would be good.

Can't wait to get the next update!

LL0015 · 20/02/2015 07:40

Morning all Grin
I checked this thread before facebook and coffee.

OP could you go play knockdown ginger to wake up NDN and NAR in the hope of eliciting some action??

gordonpym · 20/02/2015 07:50

Another vote for classics. Love it!!!

takeitonthegin · 20/02/2015 07:53

Maybe she's received the letter from the property management company and wants to move her car and apologise to NAR? She may even decide to apologise to Nanny. Grin

CharityD · 20/02/2015 07:58

I'd just be afraid that she will now pick on your spaces, so be ready for that if she does (if NAR releases her car) Grin.
She might now see that she is not going to win the battle with NAR.
If she does, I wouldn't be as nice as you were originally, saying she could use one space.

I wonder why would anyone go in, with such an awkward (polite description) approach to new neighbours, hogging their spaces and being so rude, but it makes a good thread!

SirChenjin · 20/02/2015 08:04

Another day of NAR and FONAR - bliss Smile

I've brought DH up to speed with the goings on - he says we're all electronic curtain twitchers, but I think he's more invested in this thread than he's letting on.

KitKat1985 · 20/02/2015 08:07

Morning all. So Nanny what's going on out there this morning? Also Nanny have you been able to see what FONAR looks like yet? I think he's the real hero here. Selflessly giving up his car for days to fight for a good cause and try to reclaim a friend's car parking space and bring justice and peace to the world again. True hero. Does he wear a cape? Underpants outside his trousers?

Justpickone · 20/02/2015 08:13

acrossthepond I'm hoping there is cherry Garcia in there!!
Count me in for a fiver for either sorn car or FONAR taxi service.
I can be on Isle of Wight in 23 minutes if required, just saying!

HicDraconis · 20/02/2015 08:15

PedantMarina on my 3rd glass at 6am, absolutely :)

(I live in NZ, but be impressed anyway!)

VivaLeBeaver · 20/02/2015 08:17

Place marking on new thread.

greendiary · 20/02/2015 08:19

This has made my week......the best thread I've read on MN.

Well done to Nanny, NAR and FONAR....applause all round!

Pipbin · 20/02/2015 08:20

I like the idea of being an electronic curtain twitcher.
