NAR appreciation and crazy parking lady thread 2

Nannyplum2015 · 19/02/2015 20:36

Just thought I'd start another thread as the other one looks like it will fill up soon! NDN has knocked again at NAR's house with no reply. I think she may be getting the message!

Can someone link the old thread as not sure how to do it.

Thanks

That's what is so good about this thread. It isn't nanny doing the blocking in and so she can just wait and see what happens without any feelings of guilt. Definitely the best place to be!

RandomFriend · 20/02/2015 11:47

I hope that this group of neighbours will be able to resolve things. But....
Has OP spoken to NDN after OPs letter was received?

Stinkylinky I also think she will move her car to OPs spaces.

Then the OP would be justified in asking FONAR to bring his car back on Monday.

MaudieAtkinsonsGardeningHat · 20/02/2015 11:47

She took a taxi? She's caved

Agree that enough is enough, but can't WAIT for the update tonight.

Would it be considered strange if OP offered to attend with NAR to listen offer support and mediation to both parties in trying to resolve this issue?

Nannyplum2015 · 20/02/2015 11:49

I do feel just a tiny bit sorry for her. Just incase there is a reason for her needing the car. Or maybe she's depressed and that's why she appears grumpy. I wondering whether NAR will knock on her door or wait for her to come over.

Don't feel guilty.
She selfishly prevented you and NAR from using your own spaces. Not just one, but both, FGS! Dismissed you off hand, and didn't answer the door to you either.
She deserves very little consideration.

PP pointed out quite rightly that she could have left a note either through the door or on NAR or FONAR's cars.

I suspect FONAR will just take his car out, allowing her to remove hers.
But if she is still there next week they will probably resume. Or go up one gear.

CheeseandPickledOnion · 20/02/2015 11:55

She deserves it!

RandomFriend · 20/02/2015 11:56

OP, you are going to be living next door to her for some time to come. Maybe now is the moment to go over and see whether she received your letter? Perhaps now she is ready to listen? After all, what you want is that she leaves your parking spaces free in future.

Boredinchippenham · 20/02/2015 11:57

Just place marking!! Sorry on iPhone no bookmark! Wink

SirChenjin · 20/02/2015 11:57

Do not feel a shred of sympathy for her. She brought this on herself - and is probably used to people backing off when she tells them she doesn't give a shit.
So - come release hour, she can either behave herself or face the wrath of NAR and FONAR again. And again. And again. She will get the message eventually - how long that takes is up to her

HoldingtheFortress · 20/02/2015 11:59

Unless she just goes and parks in OPs space.

Let's hope she's learnt her lesson.

HoldingtheFortress · 20/02/2015 12:00

Although I suspect that people like her will just take it personally against NAR and not equate it with the wider issue, and she will see OPs space as fair game.

In a "Huh, NAR is an arsehole and won't let me park there" kind of way, rather than a "I was unreasonable to park in a space that isn't my own" way.

I suggest now is the time to paint your house number in your space OP, to drive the message home.

HappenstanceMarmite · 20/02/2015 12:01

I'm confused. I thought it was NAR who got a taxi this morning?

HappenstanceMarmite · 20/02/2015 12:01

ie not NDN?

SirChenjin · 20/02/2015 12:01

And if she does, then OP/NAR/FONAR can just repeat the process.

HazleNutt · 20/02/2015 12:02

You actually offered that she could use one of your parking spaces, and she told you basically to fuck off. No need to feel sorry.

Lweji · 20/02/2015 12:02

Just seen ndn go out in a taxi!
FGS

HoldingtheFortress · 20/02/2015 12:03

And if she does, then OP/NAR/FONAR can just repeat the process as long as NAR/FONAR are willing to come to OPs rescue - and we hope they are, we all know what a great guy NAR is Grin

At the very least, OP can block her on one side. Let's hope it doesn't come to that and NDN has learnt her lesson.

RandomFriend · 20/02/2015 12:04

Have NAR and FONAR agreed to help OP if NDN parks in OPs space again? Or does NAR just want his spaces back?

SirChenjin · 20/02/2015 12:06

I don't know if they've agreed - but I wouldn't be surprised if they would be quite willing to help out. As Holding says - even if they aren't OP can block one side.

HappenstanceMarmite · 20/02/2015 12:17

Just seen ndn go out in a taxi!

Thank you Lweji. Thought so but pp were saying NAR.

Excellent thread !

Speaking as someone who had to walk a long way from a distant street carrying heavy bags back home last night because all the residents' parking spaces in our street were full. Council have issued too many permits and made the visitors' bays too big. Residents are not allowed to park in the visitors' bays even if no "residents' spaces" are left.
