I was just exhausted this morning, couldn't face it. I won't get any money for today, there is no one I will be holding up, I will answer any emails that come to me and need a response.

I've previously been signed off a few years ago when I was totally exhausted.

Thanks to the non grammar people.

Your lucky to have a boss that looks out for you. In most places I've been I have to look out for myself. Anyway I had just the one day off, feel much better today and will probably get more done today than if I had of come in yesterday. Had 5 sick days in the last 12 months, I know its slightly above average but in all fairness I wouldn't of got any work done of those days.

My colleague called in sick for the same reason again today (about the 4th time since October) not including days where shes gone home early. I ended having to cover her job as well as mine, meaning i wasn't able to make some calls to my own clients because i was too busy answering the advice line, which was said colleagues role today. Most annoying because she isn't ill! I feel knackered, burnt out but i drag myself in.

Don't worry too much about it - no one is so important at work they can't have a few days off when they're sick. Better than being a martyr about it

Tricky one. If no one has to cover for you, then I would say YANBU. Howevere, I have had some really tough days this term where I have dragged myself into work, expecting a lightish day, and ended up covering for colleagues who have felt a bit under the weather. That was hard, and consequently. I have ended up being ill all holidays.
