Is it unreasonable to wear hair accessories in your 30s?

I'm really bored with my hair. It's long, straight and highlighted but the condition has been absolutely rubbish since relocating (hard water?) I like wearing it down but I'd like it to look a bit more interesting. I always ogle after my 5 year olds sparkly clips and hair bands (she too has long straight hair) so I wondered what kind of hair accessories would be socially acceptable for a woman my age to wear? What kind of shops do long haired, fashionable accessory wearers frequent?

This is possibly the most superficial post I've ever written...

I'm 42 and wear headscarf type hairbands sometimes. Not clips....they look too little girlish and serve only to highlight my lack of youth! Same with flowers...they're for the young...they throw my lack of flowerishness into the spotlight!

i wear things like this though and don't care what anyone else thinks.

Hmm you have to make sure you don't end up looking like this

I'm 38 and I still love wearing my hair in a high pony tail - probably childish but I have a fringe and a fairly young face. I have a treasured hair clip with a pair of eyes on it. Go for it. Hair accessories are so fun.

I like to wear silk flowers in my hair, or nice diamante clips. I don't care if I'm too old I probably am I'm ancient

I'm in my 30s and was having the same thoughts too :-) Think if for work (I am in a v professional job) then I go more muted; if not then I like to be a little more fun. Brown headband (I have dark hair) for instance...
