How old is she? I would be mad yanbu!

EveBoswell · 18/02/2015 15:12

Is the rabbit kept in the dark in the garage?
Doesn't it run about in the garden?
You must have known what it was like because, the moment the door was opened, the smell would be emitted?

lastone · 18/02/2015 15:18

It's cruel to keep a rabbit in a hutch in the garage, unless it's given time out in the garden every day. They are quite sociable animals.

Ilovemybedbaby · 18/02/2015 15:22

Sorry op just saw she's 17, old enough to know better!

pregnantpause · 18/02/2015 15:22

Yanbu. I'd go batshit.

ghostspirit · 18/02/2015 15:30

erm i have not spoken about how much its out in the garden. or how much socialing it gets or how much its handled ect... because thats not what i was talking about. i was talking about the state my 17 year old has left the garage in.....

Yanbu to be angry she should know better.

Also, where did the OP say it was kept in a dark garage with no time in the garden? Confused

Buttyfly · 18/02/2015 15:53

The 'oh, I didn't realise' is a pretty standard response from teenagers. They mean they did it because doing it properly would have been too much effort.

SuasSios · 18/02/2015 15:54

Where the fudge did she think the old hay was to go? It'll be like a compost heap vomits

TheRealAmandaClarke · 18/02/2015 15:54

mrsmaker
"Its kept in hutch in garage"

TheRealAmandaClarke · 18/02/2015 15:55

Very annoying. Many teenagers really have little idea about personal and social responsibilities. They still need quite specific direction and a degree of supervision.

Quitelikely · 18/02/2015 15:57

I would get rid of the rabbit.

Mice? Yuk!

Looks like you both need to do some clearing out.

The rabbit food will attract the mice.

Do you have many mice?

MrsMaker83 · 18/02/2015 15:58

Amandaclark

Yes I obviously read that. But that's obviously where it lives. A hutch in garage is warmer than a hutch outdoors in this weather. Why would anybody assume it is never let out just because the hutch is in the garage is what i don't understand.

kitchentableagain · 18/02/2015 15:59

Do you think she didn't know, or do you think she's "at it"? Unless you only got the rabbit at the start of winter or someone else was caring for it until then it seems unlikely that she really didn't know rather than CBA.

Yanbu for being annoyed (but I care for our two budgies, don't love it, and am impressed that she keeps the rabbit fed and clean as I'm a responsible grownup and find it a PITA)

TheRealAmandaClarke · 18/02/2015 16:00

I guess it was just the image it conjured up.

Isithappening · 18/02/2015 16:01

Do you not go into the garage very often?

TheRealAmandaClarke · 18/02/2015 16:02

Of course she knew.
The garage would have looked like a bloody hayloft in a few weeks' time.
How long had it been in the garage?

TheRealAmandaClarke · 18/02/2015 16:03

I never go into the garage.
Blush
I do hope no bugger is keeping anything in there.

TheRealAmandaClarke · 18/02/2015 16:03

Well, any living thing.

TheRealAmandaClarke · 18/02/2015 16:05

Never ring to "have a go". Never.
That's a rookie mistake that serves only to alert them to your wrath and plan their avoidance/escape.
Amateurs.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 18/02/2015 16:06

I love the way that teenagers know everything - until they need an excuse for something they haven't done - and then, all of a sudden, they can't work out the bleedin' obvious - like the dirty rabbit bedding needs to be properly disposed of!

HeadfirstForHalos · 18/02/2015 16:08

Ideally rabbits are meant to be moved into a shed or garage for the winter, I don't get why anyone would jump on this.

Happy cleaning out the garage for your dd tomorrow op Grin

AdoraBell · 18/02/2015 16:11

Ahhh teenagers, aren't they rank lovely?

YANBU to disgusted OP, but I'm with RealAmanda, forewarned is forearmed and why would you want a teenager forearmed when you need to sort an issue like this?

TheRealAmandaClarke · 18/02/2015 16:16

And sorry mrsmaker
I didnt mean to be obtuse/ rude

ghostspirit · 18/02/2015 16:21

my house is clean. thank you. but there are holes all iver the blooody place. and lots of people on the estate seem to get mice. no i dont often go in the garage. but so what?

the rabbit actually has the run of the garden. but sometimes he just does a runner back into his hutch.

thats so true thereal i was going to rant at her down the phone tell her to get her butt home now. but then thought whats the point. its only going to take her 2-3 hours to do a 40 min journey then im just going to stress myself out. so told her she has to do it tomorrow. she home to night so up at 9 straight in garage.

true gain wolefgenius they know everything. the min they are in shit. it but i did not know im just a kid....
