Diagnosed with flu today at 16 weeks. ..disgusted tho it's not a terrible dose-no aches or pains. I have been prescribed tamiflu and hate the thought of taking something not proven completely safe in pregnancy. Anyone gone through the same? ?

Two independent pharmacists have now advised I don't take it as they can't see how benefits are greater than risks in my case... I am going to crack up!

But if you no longer have a temperature, is it not a bit late anyway?

(I have had fevers in pregnancy and all was well. Your immune system seems to have risen to the challenge!)

Thanks roonerspism I hope so! Apparently it's within first 48hrs rather than during temp...which hit 38.4 once and was brought down by paracetamol within 30mins. I haven't taken any paracetamol in 12hrs and no temp..

In the most recent confidential enquiry into maternal deaths several were due to influenza - it's extremely dangerous for pregnant women.
