Quick decorating question.

I've bought dulux feature walls paint, but when i've put the 1st coat on its slightly darker than i wanted, so can i add white emulsion to it to lighten it a bit? I think its ok, but not sure if feature walls contain a different ingredient to normal emulsion and don't want to cock it up cos can't afford more paint. Thanks.

Wait till it drys completely

Ideal do a small patch dry then do another coat then wait for.it to dry.

But if your still not happy, yes you can add white to it.

Good diy question. I have no expertise but I graduated from the school of rush it and blag it. I mixed dulux once (the paint of the devil) with normal and it was fine you just have to mix it well.

You really need to see it dry as it can lighten.

I mean dulux once^ paint as opposed to I once mixed dulux. I like normal dulux.

When I bought it I thought it was too dark and was planning on lightening it anyhow but it was the closest colour to what i wanted. But thought i'd see what its like on the wall. You can re-coat after 2 hours which is nearly up so i dont think its getting any lighter. Thanks, will give it a go!

My DH is a decorator and does this a lot but....you will need to be sure that you mix enough the first time around or you will never replicate the exact same colour. Be aware that it may look like the first addition of white is doing nothing but it is.

What MrsTawdry said. Mix enough the first time for all the painting you want to do.

Next time, buy a tester pot

Ended up putting just a tiny bit white in (about 2 tablespoons-its only a 1ltr tin) and its come out just slightly lighter which is exactly what i wanted. Looks luverly
