You can't so much as scratch an itch without her telling you that if you took juice fucing plus then you wouldn't have an itch.

Today we got told that some people ignored Mark Z when he wanted to set up FB...we are all going to feel like them when we realise we haven't bought in to JP like she has :(

WhereTheFuckIsMyFuckingCoat · 10/02/2015 12:48

I have actually shed a couple of tears seeing everyone's messages of encouragement that I'm not just being a cranky sick hormonal cow in refusing her pyramid selling shite (or quietly ignoring her 'pretend concern' messages that I know are just touting for business). I have very little confidence that the actual science backed medicines will get me through this, so you can shove your airy fairy pseudo medicinal shite up your arse!

(Sorry if my response is harsh and thoughtless, but this is really sticking in my craw just now) xx

wasabipeanut · 10/02/2015 12:53

I think wherethefuck that having to endure cancer treatment gives you a free pass to say whatever you like on the subject Flowers

bloodygorgeous · 10/02/2015 13:01

Oh I'm with you all the way Wherethefuck (is that a quote from Love Actually by the way?!) and not suprised you feel so offended and fucked off Thanks

MaryWestmacott · 10/02/2015 13:13

These people are at best stupid, at worse, cynically trying to exploit people they pretend to like.

Wherethefuck - you were very restrained. Do these people really think if there was a treatment that worked to cure cancer that the manufacturers wouldn't be pushing for it to be trialled so it could be prescribed by doctors, giving them nice big profits without having to recruit an army of small sellers, or is it that actually the Jucie Plus makers are that evil that they'd rather huge numbers of people die? Idiots.

The 'next best thing to fruit and veg' makes me laugh everytime - so not as good as fruit and veg. Great selling point "This is really good for you, I mean, not as good as eating a fruit salad which will cost you about a 1/3 of the price, but still good for you!"

fuzzpig · 10/02/2015 13:19

I'd rather just eat the veg. Veg is nice.

fuzzpig · 10/02/2015 13:20

Wherethefuck you are right to be angry, I think it's utterly disgusting when people manipulate others like that Angry

WhereTheFuckIsMyFuckingCoat · 10/02/2015 13:23

Yes, my user name is one of my fave quotes from my favourite film ever, I know on face value it's rude, but hopefully enough people will have heard of it not to be insulted.

If the insinuation wasn't so ridiculous, it would be insulting. Do these people really think that drs are sitting on this crap just waiting for the right patients (tbf to my touting friend, she only claimed that Isagenix could 'support' my treatment, and was not to be considered as an actual treatment)

(So why do I still feel so violated?)

fancyanotherfez · 10/02/2015 13:36

My parents, both diabetics used to sell forever living products. My mum used to swear blind that the honey had no sugar in it and safe for her to eat by the bucket load. No amount of me telling her that honey WAS sugar would change her mind. Aloe is great, but the juice is vile to drink. You can grow an aloe vera plant in your kitchen and chop a bit off to rub on burns.

BreakingDad77 · 10/02/2015 13:45

Lol Forever Living, former colleague who seemed normal intelligent person trying to hawk this stuff continually, has PM'd me on Facebook wondering if I want to make up a special valentines hamper for partner. I assume thats the same as Forever Ignite, seen those adverts in free paper make £1500 per month etc.

Nancery · 10/02/2015 13:57

A couple I know have also got into Juice Plus Big time and yes, it really is like a cult! I've been (let's blame the long winter evenings) stalking them and their 'juice plus family members' on FB and some of it has to be seen to be believed.
One woman appears to devote a lot of time trawling newspapers for tragic health / weight loss / cancer or similar stories (Lynda Bellingham was one) and then using it to say how relieved she is that she found Juice Plus and hence won't get cancer / yo yo diet or whatever. It's grotesque.

NimpyWWindowmash · 10/02/2015 13:58

bunch of scammers

bet it's vile too

Hakluyt · 10/02/2015 14:00

A friend of mine gave Juice+ children's chewy things and her card out to Trick or Treaters.........

specialsubject · 10/02/2015 14:01

tell her that you listened at school in your biology lessons and know what nutrients you need.

tell her that you also have teeth and so can choose food.

also tell her that you listened in the class where they taught you that pyramid sellers are to be avoided!

misssmilla1 · 10/02/2015 14:28

Heh, I just recognised the advert with the kids as supplements a friend of mine was pushing with her Arbonne lean and clean juice cleanse / shake replacement / total bollocks. I can't understand why eating 3 meals a day which are balanced, is a crapper way than meal replacements

My FB has at least 3 people doing Arbonne, 1 of whom gave up a full time job to do it (looking at her lack of FB posts recently, I suspect this has not gone quite as planned) One of them was massively pushing all Arbonne makeup and supplements and they're not cheap. I know she had to pay for the trial kits so I felt massively bad when she tried to give me samples as I knew I wouldn't be buying it as I stick to what I know and it's cheaper

Basilbrushestail · 10/02/2015 14:36

I've got a juice plus rep, that to my knowledge has no nutritional or exercise training that is setting herself up as a weightless guru come personal trainer to sell this guff.

They have been messaging me to say that they will be able to help me better than my gym owning personal trainer that is fully qualified.

It is almost as though a seminar somewhere brainwashes them into thinking they are qualified to do the same job that people have spent many years training to do. And all the science involved in conventional methods is inferior to some stupid capsules.

Tisiphone · 10/02/2015 14:51

There's a Forever Banging on (or whatever it's called) aloe vera obsessive who attends a playgroup I take my son to. In fact, as she's talked about literally nothing else in the four weeks she's attended, I can only assume she joined precisely in order to flog the stuff to a captive audience during the January obsession with detoxing that seems to afflict the other members annually.

At first I just said 'Oh, really' with no inflection at the end a lot, but once she started frothing about how her aloe vera is better than anything you can buy in a shop, and she started reminding me of hard sell hairdressers who pooh-pooh any but 'salon products', I've started snorting and pointing out the complete lack of medical evidence for any of her claims.

Rainicorn · 10/02/2015 15:06

A friend has been suckered into this. I do feel whoever sold it to her hit lucky as she has MH issues and easily lead.

She is now a rep and all her fb posts are about how her hair is so thick and no longer brittle, her skin is acne free and the supplements she is also give to her preteen daughter has helped her mood swings.

She had been quiet about it for a week, so was hoping she had seen sense. Not the case though. From Saturday she has been going on about some exciting news she has, how she has to keep quite until Tuesday but is dying to tell everyone. Apparently her inbox has been going crazy with everyone asking what it is.

Today is the day for the big news and she has posted several times about the half price blackcurrant supplements she has, they're limited and to inbox her ASAP as they're selling fast Hmm

GoodArvo · 10/02/2015 16:33

A juice plus seller on our local Facebook page linked to this...

www.facebook.com/juiceplusbabies

borisgudanov · 10/02/2015 16:41

Why do you think this isn't in Tescos or Boots or Holland & Barratt?

It's because the business model makes money not by selling the product but by recruiting others into selling it and recruiting yet others and so on, each recruiter taking a share of the muppets below them.

That is, it's a pyramid scheme.

Just think! If you recruit 6 sellers and each of the recruits 6 sellers and each of those sellers recruits 6 more and so on then in only 13 generations you've got 1.3 x 10^13 people working for you.

Errm, anyone see the problem with that?

Nancery · 10/02/2015 17:52

Basilbrushestail look at Juice Plus conventions on You Tube. They ARE brainwashing!

JuicePlusBashingQueen · 10/02/2015 19:04

I don't get why people rant and rave about Juice Plus as this amazing product when really Juice plus is just an overpriced multivitamin...who also do 'shakes' like herbalife and body by Vi which are crazily overpriced, very poor nutritionally, put you on a v low calorie intake daily which means yes you lose weight but it's water, muscle and glycogen(carbs stored in the muscle) and v little from fat. This means your metabolism slows down, you end up regaining the weight you've lost and find it even harder to lose once you start eating properly again.
Herbalife & Body By Vi have been known and proven to have caused major health problems, include brain damage etc, would you risk that sort of health risk just to lose a few pounds? not to mention very few of the reps for ANY of these fads actually have a nutritional qualification let alone a health and fitness background. the PTS/Fitness Instructors who do sell it only do it for the money, because they know it will sell - why wouldn't it? It's that 'quick fix' people have been waiting for, however it doesn't work and never will ??

In terms of what you should do eat clean, plenty of protein chicken, meat fish etc. Reduce carbs slightly from grains (pasta rice bread etc) eat lots of fruit and veg instead.
Exercise regularly, ideally weight training as you increase lean tissue and speed up your metabolism as well as lose fat at the same time. The weight on the scale is not the be all and end all you can gain weight and lose inches, the way you look feel and how your clothes fit are the best ways to measure your progress :)

As you can tell. I love the stuff.

dougierose · 10/02/2015 19:39

I went to get my eyebrows done and the therapist kept banging on about Herbal Life all the way through the session and how it was great for losing weight.

So, I'm a fat cow, am I? Great. Thanks.

She was one of those who rent a table, rather than being an employee of the salon, otherwise I would have complained to the owner. I always thought these places were supposed to make you feel better about yourself....

Cocolepew · 10/02/2015 20:09

A workmate who I have on fb is a JP rep. Shes always banging on how healthy her kids are on their 19 vitamins and minerals in one capsule. Every other week they are ill with whatever bug is going around. Just like evey other child.

chantico · 10/02/2015 20:22

From the thread title, I was afraid that someone had started to use it as the latest trendy enema

Idratherbetheboss · 10/02/2015 20:26

I've posted about this before but 2 Facebook friends got into this a year ago.

I can't fucking stand it!

One of them claimed that juice plus had been PROVEN to PREVENT premature births.
Fuck off! As a mum to a preemie this really pissed me off, 3 neo natal consultants couldn't tell me why ds was prem or give any advice on how it could've been avoided but some arsehole who has been to seminars in the local bingo hall can tell me that some fucking capsules with Apple in would've "made me last til term" got my blood boiling Angry
