To worry about secondary school admissions

When Ds is only in year 2? We probably need to move but are budgeting and changing jobs in order to do so in next 2 years. The wheels are in motion but we need to save a plan for now. Yet I worry about it every dayConfused

I worry and DS is only 3. I think it's normal and rational in some parts of the country - you need to have your ducks in a row!

I was going to commiserate as there are still 3 weeks until we find out where we are going.......

YABU because it is a long way off and the school landscape is in constant flux. And you can't know what school will suit your child yet.

Haha I worry as well. Dd is in yr4 but still worry as don't want her to go to the school in catchment. Nothing wrong with the school in fact it's outstanding grader but want her to go to a school further away and all girls.

Fwiw we moved to a different area when ds1 was 8 to be in catchment for a better secondary school. It was worth every penny.

Me, too DD in year 6, and even though 3 weeks until we find out, its not that simple, as movement in subsequent rounds. So will probably be stressed for months yet.

But yes, it is worth considering early, we moved house for primary school admissions, look at all options (eg church attendance if you don't mind a faith school). And yes when moving house worth considering.
