I liked the dino one too. Would also give it a solid 8.

HowCanIMissYouIfYouWontGoAway · 06/02/2015 23:53

judging by active convos, I think there's a bit of a 'thing' going on.

I wouldn't trust anything I read on here tonight!

Heynowbill · 07/02/2015 00:27

Yep, stunning lack of effort in the one that's just appeared in Relationships Confused

Samcro · 07/02/2015 00:28

ClockwiseCat · 07/02/2015 00:44

Dino Deniers is an 11/10 because there's an actual FB group with 1500 members. It's a hoax of the highest order

Sadly I have missed the coat troll. I was intrigued - how can you troll about coats?

emmelinelucas · 07/02/2015 00:49

I have reported and sometimes I feel as though I am in the wrong.
I mean, just because someone has built up a history of innocuous posts doesn't mean that they can't go on to troll. That is what they aim to do, and it's difficult to prove.MNHQ say that they are regular posters, etc - well so what ? The trolls get the upper hairy hand every time.
Ticks me off.

HellKitty · 07/02/2015 00:57

The dinodeniers scare me. What if they ARE real?
Confused

fizzycolagurlie · 07/02/2015 01:14

I'm actually amazed when I read a thread which I don't think is written by a troll.

But then I'm deeply cynical about this site anyway.

BallsforEarrings · 07/02/2015 08:32

Right ok - bear with me now I am a bit naive - are some of the threads made up by the OP, is that what trolling is?

How do you know when it's a troll thread or real then?

HicDraconis · 07/02/2015 08:55

The Dino thread is brilliant. Aside from being bonkers, the cartoons are very funny :)

If the coat thread was a troll, then it should be graded "could do better". I didn't let my kids decide whether to wear coats and hoods at six.

I never seem to spot them until they're deleted.

Although someone's trolling about a serious subject, I'm of the view that the replies are given in good faith and will probably be useful to people who are in a similar situation for real. So I'm not sure that deleting those is always the way to go.

But why would anyone troll about coats?

Fatstacks · 07/02/2015 13:11

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/parenting/2301982-Im-getting-sick-and-tired-of-dinosaurs-being-forced-on-our-children

Dino thread.

Don't read it if you are under the influence.

fizzycolagurlie · 08/02/2015 00:28

I just remembered, I thought threads about trolls were also deemed illegal by the powers that be...Has that changed?

vinegarandbrownpaper · 08/02/2015 00:33

Dino derniers aren't hoaxes, they are real

MightyMightyToros · 08/02/2015 02:15

The worst troll story I ever witnessed was on a wedding forum, the woman gave birth to a very sick baby.

And would update everyone on how this baby was doing. How her MIL had said it was a good thing the baby was going to die and how she slapped her MIL.

Some people started questioning it at that point because she was online so much when you'd assume she'd be spending as much time with her baby as possible.

She then posted that the hospital were restricting visits. A poster who was quite high up in the NHS said that she would get this sorted ASAP and to message her the hospital name. The OP kept saying she'd sent the message and wasn't it weird how the other poster never got it.

I think joke threads are funny, but to post about a dying baby is just so sick.

PetulaGordino · 08/02/2015 02:23

It's all goaders these days, starting bingo-style threads and derailing others where people are trying to have genuine conversations

Mermaidhair · 08/02/2015 06:54

I was accused of being a troll. My post came out wrong, and because I was new. I could have come up with a much much better story if I was trolling.
