WIBU to complain now when I said nothing at the time?

Sorry, this is a bit disgusting (and actually quite hard to believe) , but today we had an electrical appliance delivered. One of the delivery men pulled the old one out and went behind it, under the counter, to disconnect it and I asked him to give me a chance to sweep floor before he installed the new one.

He removed the old one and as he took it to the lorry, I went under counter to sweep up, only to find he had been sick under there!!! It was very watery, but smelt of bile and had curdled milk in it (sorry TMI),although I wasn't sure / could not bring myself to believe it, so when he came back I said nothing Blush. I cleaned it all up and disinfected the floor whilst he and his colleague (who I think had no idea) waited.

When DP got home, he had to remove the kickboards from under our kitchen cupboards to clean what had seeped under there too. He said it was definitely bile and wants to make a complaint to the company.

I think it was disgusting and doubly so because he said nothing and let me clean it up! However, as I said nothing at the time, I am not sure it is reasonable to complain now. DP thinks otherwise.

WIBU?

You're throwing towels away rather than putting them through a hot wash in your new machine? If he was actually sick perhaps he was extremely embarrassed and didn't feel he could tell you.

WipsGlitter · 06/02/2015 20:21

Nonsense. It came from the machine.

Would you not have heard him heaving ?.

I would say with 95% certainty it came from the machine -mix of washing powder and gunky build up/rank water. It does stink. It seems such a unlikely situation that he vommed on the floor without you hearing/noticing and didn't try to clean it up (would be easy for him to just grab some tissue and mop up some 'overflow'). Presumably he would have been feeling bad, but still immediately lugged the machine to the van? Anyway, it's done now. Just hot wash the towels, no need to chuck them.

Occam's Razor [[Occam's razor
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam's_razor applies]]

In the case of there being multiple possibilities, the simplest one applies.

Appliance, which is faulty, which is plumbed in, and of a type quite notorious for gunk is moved and disconnected. Watery smelly gunk is then found on the floor where the appliance has been.

Simple solution - it came from the machine/plumbing

Completely ridiculous solution - The delivery must have been hungover and silently without the people in the same room being aware, threw up in the space that was vacated by the machine, then stood there, without comment whilst said vomit was cleaned up.
