Or am I the only one it gives the rage to?

I used to work with someone who would often end rant emails with 'comprende!' King Twat.

MrsRayOfSunshine · 03/02/2015 21:59

Yes, discuss is awful.

I just have a vision of my ancient teacher waving his arms at us and shouting discuss!

Also agree with simples, makes me want to simply punch them in the face.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 03/02/2015 22:00

It's annoying, like 'talk to me about......'.

LikeIcan · 03/02/2015 22:05

YANBU - it's extremely irritating.
'Talk to me about....' is just damn rude & I certainly wouldn't talk to them.

blueshoes · 03/02/2015 22:29

Discuss is a relatively neutral word. Can't get excited.

Viviennemary · 03/02/2015 22:31

I never reply to these discuss threads. I'm not at school any more.

YANBU, it's very annoying. It's more like a command, than one mere word.

MrsBertMacklin · 03/02/2015 22:39

YANBU it's the kind of headline that accompanies articles by Toby Young.

Silverdaisy · 03/02/2015 22:46

Yep, when I read "discuss" at the end of an op I close it. it reads like a command, from someone who feels important. Maybe they are not, but that's how it comes across.

pictish · 03/02/2015 22:53

Don't mind it.

icelollycraving · 04/02/2015 00:17

The dear reader makes me irrationally pissed off too. Discuss irritates but not as much.

fleecyjumper · 04/02/2015 08:31

It doesn't bother me. The OP on the thread was perfectly nice. I don't know why people have been nasty about the use of one word. They were unpleasant on the thread and now somebody has started a thread about it. The OP wanted people to discuss the situation that is all.

Quenelle · 04/02/2015 12:30

Agree fleecyjumper.

Someone did this to me once. It makes you not want to post again.

Justmuddlingalong · 04/02/2015 13:40

I never read the thread mentioned here, as the use of the word 'discuss' on the thread title bugs me so much, I never opened it. If people have already given the poster a hard time for using the word I apologise. I was merely posting my thoughts.
