Having a fever ages you

I have noticed since I started pushing the edges of 40 that whenever I have a fever, I look really haggard and feel all Dickensian-weakling. Even a low grade fever such as now, although I had a serious infection last year and I haven't got all my 'bloom' back from then. I never made this connection until now.

Aibu to think this could be a noticeable lasting effect or has anyone noticed in themselves or others?

Is it not more likely to be whatever is causing the fever?

Dehydration? I find as I'm getting closer to 40 I need to stay well hydrated, and fever can really mess with your hydration.

Yes, it could be dehydration of all the cells. I drink so much, I'm always pissing right now.
