yep, regularly. Sometimes I can see it.

NCIS · 27/01/2015 22:26

An aortic aneurysm would present as a pulsating mass and in a younger person is very rare so don't panic. Blood pulses along any artery and your aorta is very big and you are quite thin so you would expect to feel its pulse.

AnyFucker you must be very slim. I'm far too fat to see food moving in my intestines, am actually glad I can't. Sounds yuck!

Lampy · 27/01/2015 22:33

I can feel/see mine too. I've always been able to, especially when lying flat on my back.

I also can see my food moving! It's a bit horrible when you think about it.

AnyFucker · 27/01/2015 22:36

betty I am on the long and skinny side Smile

I can see food going round the corners of my intestine as it bulges up on one side (seriously)

AnyFucker · 27/01/2015 22:36

I can assist peristalsis by pressing on the relevant bits as the food goes around

I thought everyone could do it until my H started going "eww eww eww" Grin

AnyFucker · 27/01/2015 22:39

I push everything frontwards when lying on my back by bending my knees underneath me and placing my feet under my buttocks

I have spent many a sleepless night playing around with my innards (it's not a sexual thing... Grin )

moggiek · 27/01/2015 22:41

Perfectly normal.

bettyboop1970 · 27/01/2015 22:43

I'm on the fat side and now have peristalsis envyConfused after googling it!

Cocolepew · 27/01/2015 22:48

Now everytime I see a post from you AF that's what I'm going to picture Shock

AnyFucker · 27/01/2015 23:06

Sorry Grin

bettyboop1970 · 27/01/2015 23:07

AF are you also a contortionist?

Thoughtfulduck · 27/01/2015 23:10

Yes I can even see it if I lie still enough! If I put an object on my tummy it is easier to see Smile

scousadelic · 27/01/2015 23:11

I am a huge fatty but my tummy sometimes jiggles with my pulse too

AnyFucker · 27/01/2015 23:17

betty, yes Wink

If you feel a pulse in your abdomen it could be an abdominal aortic anurysm. Get it checked out x

Well it could be, if you abdomen bloats it could be pregnancy or it could be that you just came back from an all you can eat place stuffed.

A pain in your left arm could be a heart attack, but could also be because one of your kids pulled it in a game earlier.

There are pulses all over your body, some people it is easier to find and see, others more difficult.

hauntedhenry · 28/01/2015 06:01

Yes, it's normal. Weird innit?

ifgrandmahadawilly · 28/01/2015 09:18

I used to get a very strong pulse in my stomach which you could see. As it turns out I had a heart condition (avnrt). Since I've had ablation therapy, I don't get the pulsing in my belly. I had lots and lots of other symptoms though. Do you have any other circulatory problems, or just this?

kaykayred · 28/01/2015 09:20

I have had this since I was young. My partner always takes the piss out of me for it!

Now I know what it is thanks to the wisdom of Mumsnet :D

itsbetterthanabox · 10/12/2017 20:06

I know this is a zombie thread but I’ve noticed I get this on my side like waist between rib and hips I can feel it pulsing with heartbeat when I lie on my left side.
I can’t feel it otherwise I don’t think. Is that normal? Not thin. Can’t feel it anywhere near the centre it’s very much my left side/waist.

WineAndTiramisu · 10/12/2017 20:11

Perfectly normal if you're thin. Don't google aneurysms, it's not that!

Nikephorus · 10/12/2017 20:21

No I can't, but I can wobble my belly & that's quite fun Grin
