Because it messes with their heads?

I recently bought one massively-reduced Hobbs dress in a sale, and now I can't walk into H&M without feeling disgusted by the lack of lining and poor tailoring.

I've I'd just known my place in the first instance, I'd still be quite happy.

you're like Daisy from Downton Abbey!

wishmiplass · 26/01/2015 14:49

Oh dear youmakemydreams Weeding in a Coast dress? Really? How naff! Smile x

youmakemydreams · 26/01/2015 15:02

Wish it will be naff by the time I've insisted on telling everyone that it only cost £19 I really have no decorum.

wishmiplass · 26/01/2015 15:17

Ha. I do that too. I'd love to be naturally elegant and poised and shit. x

Hatespiders · 26/01/2015 15:20

sqoosh are you Barbara Windsor? Grin

I've had my Argos bedding for nearly nine years and it's wearing brilliantly.

For the poster whose bedding was eaten by rats. Be thankful that your local large rodents have discerning taste Wink .

Sparklingbrook · 26/01/2015 20:37

High thread count bedding. Bought in the sale at Homesense. I can never go back to 'normal' now. Grin

I don't have any posh clothes... Next is posh for me haha Grin

I am lusting after some fancy bedding though after we stayed in a hotel for our honeymoon that was beyond fancy. I wanted to buy some luxury white bedding once we'd decorated our bedroom...then realised it may not be practical once baby is here in May. Still... I can dream!

This is so me when it comes to shoes and boots, i go without rather than buying cheapo shoes. Its not because of vanity but due to comfort mostly. I got a pair of £150 north face walking trainers for £45 in the john lewis sale, no other comfy, waterproof shoes come anywhere NEAR them. Will i ever get another pair for less than £100?? i doubt it

TheRealAmandaClarke · 26/01/2015 20:54
Grin YANBU That said, I bought 2 dresses from jigsaw in the summer. On one the lining is wonky. And the other is not happy after its first wash Sad I have a dress I bought in top shop 20 years ago amd it still looks great when I am thin again
MrsItsNoworNotatAll · 26/01/2015 21:10

I got a sample of some expensive perfume last year. Really cannot justify paying so much for it but it was lovely. I tried to get as much of that 10ml bottle as I possibly could and I can't bear to throw it away. Pathetic!

In comparison my usual White Musk smells like Zoflora now Sad

stealthsquiggle · 26/01/2015 21:15

Avocado - white bedding is intensely practical with small baby, because it can be boil washed, and, if desperate, bleached. That's why hotels use it. Go for it Grin

avocadotoast · 26/01/2015 21:21

Oh! That's great, I never thought of that. Maybe I can win DH round to it after all!

stealthsquiggle · 26/01/2015 21:41

Our nice white bedding (White company - sale) has survived 2 tiny babies. Said babies are now 8 and 12 and the bedding is still going strong.

onemiddlefinger · 27/01/2015 09:00

Plus most of what comes out of babies is white (milk, I mean, poop obviously is not).
Our white bedding is also still white after baby.

treaclesoda · 27/01/2015 09:03

I'm with you OP. On the odd occasion that I splash out or get a great bargain it immediately makes the majority of my clothes feel really poor in comparison Grin

Iggly · 27/01/2015 09:08

I didn't think it was harsh

You need to rule out reflux etc before sleep training. Even Ferber suggests gentler methods!

Iggly · 27/01/2015 09:09

Wrong thread Blush

SamG76 · 27/01/2015 09:12

There's a Jewish joke about a man whose shoelace snaps, so he buys new laces. Then of course he needs new boots, because he can't wear new laces on such old boots, then of course he needs posh new trousers, shirt, cufflinks, suit, coat, scarf, gloves, etc, and it leads to his financial ruin....

thismumismad · 27/01/2015 10:22

I got 100% cotton Hello Kitty bedding from lidl Smile
