So the irritating Park christmas savings ads which are on the TV... Are they a con? Or have you saved with them and found it a good way to save for 'a debt free christmas'?

'Do the shops bank on having the custom of park shoppers' vouchers which they might not otherwise have had if the only option was cash'

Yes

As mentioned above Park make money by giving the shops less than £1 per spent voucher and by the interest from savers. It says this somewhere in Park's documents (I read loads before committing my money!!)

That is also why many shops won't sign up. Some try it for a year but don't find it profitable. But it is not all bad for shops, people using vouchers may make additional purchases etc

I think the shops with a higher profit margin, or volume sales will still make a profit even after park have taken 10p on the pound. From the point of view of say Boots, 1p in the pound profit is better than potentially no profit at all.

Its a fact that without these savings schemes, thousands of people wouldnt spend anywhere near as much at Xmas, so the shops benefit and thats why they sign up.

No one is being ripped off, no one is subsidising anyone else Hmm [waits for comments about the tax payer paying for a poor persons Xmas......]

celibacy now THAT table is a whole lot of reason to shop with park. What a beauty indeed, and at such a reasonable price too!!
