Friend's usual childcare has let her down so her DC is coming to play with mine (it's my day off today). Just arrived, child is in PJs - can I give her a bath and get her dressed please? - and they would like me to try and potty train her today, they have never tried before but my dd is nearly there so she doesn't think I'll mind... Said OK in house but she'll have to put nappy on if we go out (I'm planning on soft play so no good for accidents). Apparently this is not OK, I shouldn't take her out if I'm not prepared to keep her in pants. Surely ianbu?

I am so envious of this woman and people like her who seem to go through life palming off the difficult stuff on other people. Envy

If only I had the nerve. Mind you I might not have many friends for long but hey ho, something's gotta give.

If I was lucky to have a friend like you Yangsun who would be willing to occasionally look after my child, I certainly wouldn't abuse the situation like your friend has and in fact i would be very grateful and do everything I could to make the job easier for you (like not bringing DC in his PJ).
I just don't understand the audacity of some people. Some seem to take everything for granted.
Well done for not starting the potty training and carrying on with your plans!

Chipping friends are really over-rated, though. Don't you think?

Well I presume that's what OP's friend must think. Maybe she's way more popular than me and therefore has plenty of friends to work her way through.

When you have a limited circle of friends I find you have to be nice to them and not just treat them like staff. It's such a bore.

Where do these 'friends' come from?
