Da was downstairs cleaning up after a soy sauce related incident, (don't ask) and he shouted up for a clean t shirt as he was cold, I threw him a baby one as a joke which he out on his head.
The arms looked like ears and the moustache on the front actually went where a tach on him would and he just looked FREAKY. I started to laugh and then quickly got a bit scared so told him to stop and take it off. He didn't and started coming up the stairs towards me, I genuinely got scared (yes, I knew it was him but he looked scary!) So I started screaming at him to take it off, he didn't and kept coming at me so I ran away and shut myself in our sons room (who is away for the night). I was still screaming and heard him collapse into giggles on the landing outside.
So, wibu to get scared or he is right, it was funny?

Fascinating insight there Hakluyt, I wish I could be more like you.

Does anyone else scare the kids for a laugh (pull scary face or such) then when if they freak reassure them, then you can't help scaring them again - or is it just evil me?

DH hid behind the bathroom door the other day and when I opened it said in a deep voice DID YOU WASH YOUR HANDS?

I was really distracted and not expecting it and I screamed for about 20 seconds and threw my phone at him. He thought it was hilarious! To be fair, so did I once my heart had returned to normal Grin

I wouldn't say I'm that sensitive either Flight

It was a weak joke based on my username and the earlier comment I quoted. I wont be giving up the day job for a career in comedy any time soon.

Okay I'm the one BU - I didn't realise so many people had a genuine fear of this sort of thing Confused

Bertie that is brilliant! I'd have shat myself initially but then found it really funny too.

I will confess to scaring DD3 on purpose. She had never seen Harry Potter and the DH Part 1, and was watching it with me.

When Harry and Hermyown were in Bathildas house and the snake is going potty I said "Oh watch carefully, otherwise you will miss the important bit" so she did, and then the snake burst up the stair well and she screamed and burst into tears Blush

She is 10 and she does that the DS2 all the time (he is 9) so I didnt think she would be bothered. I was wrong! Now she wont listen to me if a film is on, even if I say "this bit might make you jump" and then it does!
