I've recently been diagnosed as anaemic and vitamin D was extremely low too. It took four trips to the gp to finally get a doctor to say I needed a blood test. So two months of feeling low and tired. Now I know what is wrong, I have the iron tablets to take for three months. I've been feeling exhausted for two months now and three days into the iron tablets, I'm feeling no different.
I have two children and I work outside the home. It's all proving so hard for me. I took time off before Xmas and again last week with feeling shaky, weak and low (before blood results were returned). My boss called me into his office yesterday in a kind of what is going on here kind of manner. I was fuming as I'm genuinely ill.
Does anyone know what else I could do to feel stronger? Are iron transfusions any good? I need to function but just feel like shutting myself away for a week....

I have been various levels of anaemic during my life, 3 blood transfusions, the last 9 months ago when I was about 6 (and flying a few days later :( )

The tablets dont work, they make me ill and I puke :( So what I do do, is take a well woman vitamin daily with my main meal and just about given up drinking coffee, what I drink now is Chocolate Ovaltine (light) whilst its about 77cals a cup (so not the healthiest) you only need 4 cups to hit your 100% daily intake, I personally love it and am able to drink over those 4 cups, but I know some people may onlybe able to stomach a cup or two.

I believe they have helped me,I feel pretty good these days, but I am working up the nerve to revisit the Doctors :D

Try it, see if you like it, because every little helps xx
Good Luck, I was at lvl 4 once, and was crawling, so I know how wretched it makes you feel :(
