My twins have not long turned 5. They're pretty independent and at home dress themselves without bother. I'm getting fed up though of them.coming out of school with no coat on. I know a teacher can't do up 15 coats but couldn't she at least encourage a bit more? Plus u was 5mins late today so they were soaked. I know ow it wont kill them but feeling precious!

I am with the vast majority on here in saying, no it isn't teachers job to put on coats for children, yes they can ask.

Plus it only takes a few seconds to close up the zip of coat so you should just do it for them.

My 6yr old always comes out of school with her coat wide open so I just take 2seconds to fasten it up.

I don't understand why the OP needs a teacher to put her kids' coats on when they can dress themselves without bother.

In fact I would expect a teacher not to put a coat on a child who can do it themself easily. Reception's about becoming more independent in that way.

I'd hope she helps the kids who can't yet cope with doing it themself.
