Ok maybe a little dramatic, Grin but after spending the weekend delousing dd, once again, wibu to at least consider it? At least untill a certain little class mate's mum aknoweldges her daughters wriggling hair and does something about it?

I really doubt any parent is wilfully neglecting their child's hair

I think you're being a bit naive there. There are a significant number of parents who neglect their children in one way or another. Not delousing is a very minor one in comparison to some other forms of neglect.

OP, we found the best way was to do the metal nit comb every single week, regardless of whether they had any. And if they did, then every single hair wash. It's bloody time consuming though.

I think I'm goingo start doing that. We go swimming on Friday, after school, then do a family film night. I think I am going to use the wet hair and film as a weekly opportunity to do a comb through. If it doesn't yield lice it will at least give me peace of mind!

Thankfully neither of my children have had them and in 6 years of school we only had the "please check your child" letter home once. My friends daughter goes to another local school and wears a headscarf to school despite being younger than the usual age for a hijab and not wearing it at weekends. My friend admitted it was because headlice is such a problem in her class.

I like your film night idea - should make it less of an unpleasant chore for all concerned as well
