to think it's sad that Katie Hopkins gets more attention on this board than the murder of 12 cartoonists in Paris?

I can find lots of vitriolic threads about Katie Hopkins, fair enough, it's great that people feel that they can criticize her without having to fear for their lives and that is the beauty of free speech.

However, I am quite surprised that on a message board that is all about discussing people/ideas/politics, sometimes aggressively and negatively, there doesn't seem to be any new threads about the grotesque attack in Paris yesterday, which was not only the murder of 12 innocent people but also an attack on free speech and an attack on creativity. This is important to anyone who values and believes in free speech as every murder and threat chips away at these fundamental Western (and human) values and rights. RIP to the cartoonists that were mercilessly killed for doing their jobs. Lets hope we are not saying RIP to freedom of expression.

I've seen at least threads about the shootings in France.

Including the reanimation of a 3 year old thread about Charlie Hebdo, and at least one new one this morning about the fatal shooting of a policewoman in Montrouge.

There was a main on 'In The News', one in 'chat', one calling for British newspapers to print the cartoons, one calling for MNers to share a photograph of 'Je Suis Charlie' and one called 'Je Suis Charlie'

And this thread.

OP: if you think there are further angles not already discussed on those threads, then nothing is stopping you starting more.

I find it weird when an atrocity happens and people say 'but what about all the other atrocities going on in the world since the beginning of time'. People are shocked by Charlie Hebdo, doesn't mean nothing else shocking is happening anywhere.

I don't think it's because muslims did it that makes it so shocking, I think it's because they were cartoonists, and they were shot dead in the office. Something very chilling about that.

she doesn't. I have yet to hear Obama mention her in a speech. Perhaps you give her more attention?!

Katie Hopkins isn't even worth talking about.

She's a Daily Mail type of troll.
