I've saved up my daughters clothes and shoes and all of her toys she no longer plays with for a few months to give to a particular charity who dish it out to poor families in my area.

We had three bin bags full which I left just outside the front door this morning as I didn't know what time they were coming and didn't know if my dad would be here as he is in and out all day.

Anyway the bloke knocked to collect the stuff and it had gone, someone had come round before him and nicked it!

It was just three plain black bin bags with no stickers on or anything, do you think it would be worth logging incase it's happening a lot? Or would you just leave it

Been really upset about it all night the bastards I could kick myself!

Nope bin day is Monday and they were right up by the front door, we've got quite a long drive and have to wheel the bins to the end near the pavement

That really sucks. No harm in logging it. I'd keep an eye on your local Facebook selling pages too in case you recognise anything.

Ps I don't mean report as in a theft against me, just to log it for their info incase it's happening a lot!

Definitely worth logging it. Why would that be unreasonable? Someone has stolen your stuff.

Probably someone quite poor to nick stuff that someone was chucking out in a few binbags. It might have been a misunderstanding rather than a crime - maybe they thought you were throwing it away/taking to the tip. You were trying to do something nice for charity, but the person who took the stuff may have been really in need and not thought they were 'stealing'. I'm not sure I'd report, unless I had reason to think it was some kind of organised scam or deliberate act or something.

I doubt it Procast - they'll probably sell it on in some way.

I am wondering if it's an organised scam as we live in a cul de sac and I've noticed transit vans driving up and down a lot lately and a friend has just told me that it happened to her and she saw some of the stuff on a selling site!

I've messaged to local police station on their facebook page so I will see what they say

Def log it. It's a known scam round here that people go round with transit vans just before the charity collection can is due and pick up bags that have been left.

No one notices as its collection day anyway and not all the charities use marked vans. So no one challenges anyone if they see them.
