To think "manhood" doesn't really need any one to stand up for it?

Read this article and can't believe that anyone is promoting such a pile of bollocks. This guy actually sued a sports centre because they had a "women's hour" at their gym and think feminism is to blame for all the evils of the world. He has now written a book about how mean the "shehadists" are to poor widdle him.

You're assuming the women will buy the full package. The price ranges from £550 per annum or £55 per month for full access to pay as you go on an individual activity basis.

Sorry , his website and his book are appalling but Camden Council scored an own goal here.

AggressiveBunting · 04/01/2015 05:57

Sorry but we shouldn't be pandering to 'cultures' where women aren't 'allowed' to be within unrelated men. Those cultures have no place in a liberal democracy and should not be supported by taxpayers money.

nooka · 04/01/2015 07:44

So those women should just be stuck at home then? I agree that cultures like that are misogynist and problematic, but the women probably have little choice about it. Offering a few women only sessions isn't really a huge deal is it?

Great. More women without an outlet for exercise and a reasonable excuse to access leisure outside the home. I'm sure the mysogynist bullies in their homes won't weep.

He is 100% right about the gym issues, the council have handled it really badly, not surprisingly so though as councils are pretty useless at this kind of thing.

Also think there are too many people here being unreasonable about the issue and this a is part of the reason I disagree with feminists and some of the arguments around feminism. If the boot was on the other foot here in that men were being given an hour in the gym whereby woman were barred from it and paying for it these same people who say it's not a big issue would be jumping up and down shouting it was discrimination - so much for equality and fairness...

FloraFox · 04/01/2015 11:09

If pay as you go is also an option then he could have chosen to do that then he wouldn't have been paying for the women's hours. That would have avoided the need for this pointless litigation.

Territt16 · 04/01/2015 11:30

FloraFox, he could have used pay as you go, but he paid for full access, the same price as a woman, so why should he get less in return?

Nomama · 04/01/2015 11:36

Well, he does prove one very salient point - even total twats can be right every now and then.

Sad that he has been given quite so much time in everyone's lives though. I am disappointed that I spent just these 2 minutes on him!

TidyDancer · 04/01/2015 11:44

As others have said, he is completely right on his original point, but his delivery of it and the subsequent and blatant promotion of his book have exposed him as the odious awful man I suspect is beneath it all. I don't think he is on any kind of noble crusade here, I think he's found a convenient scenario to fit his agenda and run with it. Which is a shame since, as previously stated, his point about the opening hours isn't incorrect.

TidyDancer · 04/01/2015 11:47

And I also agree that the gym have handled this badly and that there shouldn't be a need for a women's hour if they behaved responsibly.

Fwiw, I have just checked my gym hours and there isn't a women's hour but there is for the attached swimming pool.

BoneyBackJefferson · 04/01/2015 11:51

As has been posted this could have been solved in ten minutes with a calculator.

I can think of quite a few situations where I have complained because I was getting screwed over something, this is no different.
