  1. Do not use the word "amount" when you mean weight/numbers/ volume/ quantity/ numbers.

  2. Please do not start threads about "man-flu" or whatever. I have never in my life met any man who meets the description of these "man-flu" victims. And I have never heard any of my friends and acquaintances complaining about their partners having "man- flu".

  3. Give your MIL the benefit of the doubt occasionally - I have a difficult relationship with mine but she is my DHs mother and my offsprings Grandmother. That means I keep things in perspective somewhat.

  4. Please do not use the words (or phrases) slacks/meal/prepare/plate up/showering/bathing or mummy.

TIA

I think that covers it all quite nicely.

MinkTurban · 03/01/2015 00:33

Oh bore off.

Groovester · 03/01/2015 00:33

Grabs the popcorn...

Boysclothes · 03/01/2015 00:33

And can you all refrain from using the phrase "I bloody love (insert item of love here". It doesn't flow and usage of it just needs to end.

Boysclothes · 03/01/2015 00:34

Haha epic post fail.

Anyway, stop fucking saying "I bloody love".

Tinks42 · 03/01/2015 00:35

Ok then thinks this woman is a bloody nutter but will try to realise that others know her rather well on here and think its a tounge in cheek funny post.

DilysPrice · 03/01/2015 00:35

"Meal"?

The rest falls under the headings of Sensible Policies For a Happier MN. But wtf is wrong with meal? Do we have to use "breakfast/lunch/tea/supper/dinner" in all cases? Can we abbreviate to bltsd?

Salmotrutta · 03/01/2015 00:36

How nice MinkTurban.

I could say ODFOD.

But I won't.

Perhaps I should have added "Lighthearted" in the title? Hmm?

I know a small amount of men whose partners suffer from their "man-flu". Confused

Salmotrutta · 03/01/2015 00:37

I just hate "meal".

OP posts:
LillyEvans · 03/01/2015 00:38

What is wrong with 'meal'?

usualsuspect333 · 03/01/2015 00:38

Hate the pa use of please fuck the fuckity off

'i'd like to impolitely request that anyone who's bothered about 'amount' and 'fewer' instead of 'less' needs to badly get out more

PoppySausage · 03/01/2015 00:39

Hate 'meal' too!

Salmotrutta · 03/01/2015 00:39

Mink turban is so right!

bunchoffives · 03/01/2015 00:40

that doesn't even make sense. ha.

LillyEvans · 03/01/2015 00:40

Sorry cross post.

I don't like in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 film when they've just apparated to London and Hermione says to Harry "oh no your birthday! Ginny and I prepared a cake!" Any normal person would say 'baked/made you a cake' not prepared!

Boysclothes · 03/01/2015 00:40

I WILL twat you, usual. Believe.

I go out loads and am supremely bothered by people incorrectly using fewer and less.

Don't mind split infinitives or Baylis and Harding though.

usualsuspect333 · 03/01/2015 00:40

Shock How very dare you.

scousadelic · 03/01/2015 00:40

Agree with your first 3 but am unsure about number 4. There are so many questions. I am a larger lady and worry about any suggestion of missing meals, might I starve? How can I be organised if I cannot prepare for things? Won't things get very whiffy if we can't order mucky offspring to shower or bathe?

Could I please request an addition of an immediate stop to ending anything with 'Just sayin' or 'Gavel'?

It's not that common on here although I saw one earlier this evening but it's driving me berserk on FB

PhaedraIsMyName · 03/01/2015 00:41

"Plate up" appeared a lot in the thread about refusing to let someone else's 4 year old have a pudding because she hadn't eaten her main course; used mainly by people who disagreed with me that the father in question was a pompous ass.

I had never heard the expression before.

Salmotrutta · 03/01/2015 00:41

bunchoffives - using "amount" when you mean weight/volume etc. is just annoying.

HTH.

Can we also ban 'grabs popcorn' or indeed any kind of direction.
