Ive put my Tv up for sale on gumtree for £50, just now I had a message from someone asking if I deliver, I said yes I deliver but only within x city, she then asks if I will take 40. I say no the price is non negotiable, which is fair as its a 28" tv only 3 months old we just don't need it anymore. She then says she has 2 kids and only 45 pounds to last until Monday... Aibu to detest sob stories like this? Either she's trying it on for a better deal or is terrible at managing her money. If I had 45 to my name I wouldn't go out and spend the vast majority on something so non essential...

My wife regularly advertises bits on FB and almost always ends up with some loon demanding she deliver until they eventually agree to collect and then do not turn up 2-3 times after she has stayed in for them to collect.
They are also bordering on illiterate most of the time.
I run a small warehouse with 12 staff and whilst its a bit off thread i get staff telling me i have pick them up and drop them home because their mum needs the car to go xmas shopping. Another was 'i can't afford my car insurance so will need you to put me on the better paid shift but i cant do 9-9 because i dont like eating dinner late so i will have to do 7-7. Never mind we are open till 9, hence 9-9.
I call it the 'customer' mentality.

I provide a professional service for a (very reasonable) fixed fee. Do get enquiries from people saying "I don't have much money can you do it for £x" errr no sod off!

Weird cutlery. I had a similar thing with a colleague who I'd offer a lift to because we lived in the same place roughly but I always took him right to his door. Eventually after about 2 weeks we didn't even get in to a discussion about it. He would walk to my car with me and had a lift. For 2 years.

Sorry off topic.
