WIBU to call DD2 'Number 2'

Discopanda · 30/12/2014 21:23

DD2 is due in April- we can't agree on any names, we used up all the good names on DD1, 'Number 2' is starting to sound catchy and atm she kicks when I call 'Number 2'. I know registrars are allowed to refuse you calling your babies by certain names but if I explain my reasons surely they'll allow it?!

We have a relative who named her first DD "Apple" (no, I am NOT lying).

She wanted to name her second daughter "Six". I think her family threatened to disown her.

ProudAS · 30/12/2014 22:19

How about "Number 7" that's a luckier name.

CorporateRockWhore · 30/12/2014 22:22

Used to know someone who named her twin sons One and Two. Hmm

My two sometimes get called Medium and Small.

RoundRobinSparkles · 30/12/2014 22:24

Call her Baby Girl.

Pico2 · 30/12/2014 22:29

Just get DD1 to name her.

Discopanda · 30/12/2014 22:45

Pico2 that's a lovely idea but DD1 is nearly 3 and is obsessed with Bing at the moment so DD2 might end up being called "Rabbit" or "Carroty bagel"

We call ours 'this one' and 'that one'..... You can be like Wayne and waynetta slob. 'She's called 'numbatoo' it's EXOT-IIIC'

Pico2 · 30/12/2014 22:54

You might find that helps you to come up with your own name for DD2, if you don't then our DD1 may take matters into her own hands. My DD has suggested "Big Henry" after a child at nursery or Rapunzel. We've managed to decide on something else, though I wouldn't be surprised if DD just goes with what she wants and we all end up following suit.

YABU. Unless you classy it up a bit. Something like Deux - so much more sophisticated. Or Tveir for some Icelandic cool. The possibilities are endless OP!

Minerves · 30/12/2014 23:06

call her Leoben

woowoo22 · 31/12/2014 09:08

Call her 'you there!' Or 'the One Who Knocks'

I often call mine by the dogs names by mistake.

We grew genuinely fond of Baby as it took us so long to name our first after he was born!

Staywithme · 31/12/2014 09:27

I often call mine by the dogs names by mistake.

Yup. I do that on a regular basis. Blush Grin

I call the boys Stinkie 1 and Stinkie 2. They're 21 & 24 so they're used to it.
I just feel it says a lot more about their personalities OP. Can't help thinking you should put a wee bit more effort into naming your daughter like wot I did.

Pagwatch · 31/12/2014 09:32

For along time ds1 was 'Jesus Christ will you stop crying'

Fairyfellowsmasterstroke · 31/12/2014 09:34

OP - I've some suggestions.

I'm an avid fan of My Big Fat Gypsy programmes an occasional watcher of a certain TV programme.

Recent names from the travellers have been:-

"Babbby Girl" - child is now approx 9 yrs old. And name IS spelt with 3 "b"s in the middle.

"Young Un" - child is now 8.

"Boy" - child is now a teenager.

These are christened names, not nicknames.

Fancy any??????

samithesausage · 31/12/2014 09:44

Look on the freebmd for victorian births. There are some "unusual" names there. "Love" "Jubilee" "Candy" and very odd combinations which have fallen out of fashion. (I secretly like the girls name vixen good job I've got all boys)

I refer to ds1 as number one, so I can use the phrase "make it so number one" (dodgy star trek reference)
