To appropriate my three year old's chocolate santa?

Have been stuck in all day, older kids want to make some chocolate chip cookies to take around to rellies who we are visiting tomorrow, we have no chocolate chips. The three year old has been given lots of chocolate including a massive Santa which I'm eying up. Would it be wrong to smash up Santa (or at least take his head and shoulders)? I don't think my little one would miss it (he's already had a bite out of him and he's got so much other stuff).

I'd do it - they can share the cookie, it's a victimless crime as they wont remember and it's doing them a favour if they have way too much other Choc...what are you waiting for?

I would taste it first though if I was you, for quality control purposes of course.

I thought you were asking permission to eat it.
To use it for cooking with the children -go for it! (I'd have probably sanctioned eating it but only if there was no nicer chocolate.)

Oh yes, that's what happens to Easter Eggs here too. Tip - don't try it for rice crispie cakes though. They must do something to hollow chocolate shapes to stop it melting, it's always gone funny and lumpy for me.

Santa is no more but we have a nice batch of cookies. Storytown I think you may be onto something with the non melting properties of hollow chocolate but for cookie purposes staying in chunks worked well.
